Sperm counts continue to plummet in Western nations

Look I deleted it but I’m asking why he would say those things when his wife works… IMO it is a horrible thing that he said about working moms. Plenty of sahm have kids that aren’t resilient. This is more about modern parenting styles than working/stay at home parents. But whatever let’s blame women…must be their fault.

I think since you deleted it, that means you have admitted your wrongdoing. So I think @hanera might forgive you…

I was mimicking the feelings of average American men  Guess you are not a Chinese, don’t understand 指桑骂槐, is ok, I use a few times on wuqijun but he didn’t realize too.

Four classes of people in the work place:

Novice - Being bullied to do all kinds of shxt work.
Taijin Master - Learn how to re-direct work to someone else.
Ninja - Not easy to direct work to and able to backstab you.
God - Whatever you said is the truth, nothing but the truth, and you would never do anything wrong.

SAHM or D is usually in God mode
Your kids are likely to be in Novice mode

Yes I sucked at the workplace. I was a novice and remained a novice even after working for like a decade. Always bullied by the gods and always backstabbed by the ninjas :sob:

Shared your reason for quitting the workplace since that is what I did once the opportunity occurred. Ninjas are near impossible to dodge. And you can’t win Gods.

When I was still working, I notice many new recruits demand lots of handholding (required to be trained and detailed instructions of what to do, who to talk to, and close monitoring otherwise work stop because they don’t take initiative to ask you) and can’t withstand a casual sarcasm (i.e. resign or complain to your boss).

I was sick of doing all the actual work myself, so I tried to become a manager so that I can sit in meetings all day long without doing any actual work. And they get to assign the salaries and stock options to their subordinates too! What a cool job. Unfortunately that never really materialized so I decided to just quit. Now I get to assign my own salary to myself and grant my own stock options. But without the bullying and the backstabbing. Way more cool

I understand everything. In fact, I understand Chinese culture and the language much better than anyone on this forum. No joke.

Depends on the company, I think managers usually takes more responsibility and have more stress. They have more power and more info, but still more stress, more work and less free time. Many mid level managers do not get much better compensation. You need to rise up to higher level to reap the benefits

I would not accept a manager job because I don’t want extra stress. But problem is that I would get less info

The problem too is that conservative people only have sex when they are going to have a baby.
At least that’s what their “conservative mantra” and religious thingy stands for.

That’s pretty sad, sperms die without being used, the genes take action, tell the body to produce less sperm, and so on.

I think tech workers need a high IQ, but managers just need a good EQ. No, I don’t think they have more stress. Because with their high EQ they are good at dealing with people.

The only kind of people who might find a managerial job stressful is those with a low EQ. Their high IQ would not help in this case.

The higher EQ you have, the higher up the corporate ladder you can climb.

Have not worked in private sector but in public sector, it depends on the managerial level.
Individual contributors - Easy life, just 9-5, is not your problem deadline and budget is not met.
Manager - Very hard, convince your staff to work or you have to do them to complete in time and of quality.
Senior Manager - Become easier.
Director - Easier than senior manager but not as easy as individual contributor.
DS - Become hard again.
PS - Very tough, harder than manager.

So, the game plan is to assess whether you can make it to Director, if not better to stay as individual contributor.

wuqijun,

You’re right. High EQ finds being a manager is easier than an individual contributor. High IQ find being an individual contributor is easier than a manager. So from the comments of blogger, we can deduce:
BAGB - IQ higher than EQ
In any case, most techies have IQ higher than EQ.

I think everyone on this forum has very low EQ. The exceptions might be @manch and a couple others who have not offended anyone thus far…

Not too surprising, most of us are techies. I have a B Eng (EE).

Low EQ means not offending others?

What’s the EQ rank of the posters here based on posts?

EQ is not just about offending people or not, but people with high EQs tend to avoid offending people and use PC language whenever appropriate.

I’m not going to rank people here according to their EQ. Because doing so would indicate that I have a really low EQ myself  But thanks for trying

But I’m sure people can tell who has high or low EQs here without naming anyone explicitly…

You already ranked my EQ uninvitedly, now you want to practice PC

On a more serious note, reduced sperm count could be just a normal reaction of a species, not related to lifestyle or food/beverages. Human species no longer need to have that many babies since we are in no threat of being killed easily and life span is lengthening. Nature has its way to balance itself in order not to create over-population.

[/quote]I dislike people who try to be overly PC and have already decided not be PC anymore. At my age, trying to pretend what you are not is just too torturing… well, if one is not a 宰相 material, what can I do, 宰相肚里能撑船. A high EQ person won’t be easily offended

Almost everything is going to offend someone. I’ve hit the mindset that the measurement should be similar to other areas. Would a reasonable person be offended? I’m not going to concern myself with worrying about how every snowflake might be offended by something. Why worry about people that’ll be too busy complaining about words to ever achieve anything?

Those cornflake people getting offended by anything should try to feel the coldness of the end of a gun on their foreheads as I felt one day. Ain’t funny.

I can’t claim I am smart. Under the poor circumstances of my past life, I graduated as a teacher in Guatemala and it was big deal then, surprise, surprise! No jobs! After 5 yeas I got one in the government. Well paid by those standards then.
Then, I went to Law school for 4 years, and in the beginning of year 5, one year short to become a felon with a diploma, I had to flee my country of origin because inside the university I was a snitch for the government, outside I was a snitch for the resistance, aka leftist sucker groups. Both sucked anyway. Otherwise, I would be a famous ambulance chaser back there. I used to read 1-2 books a day if anybody asks, and I read all constitution in this country. I learned the poor English I know by myself on the job, talking and asking questions. No ESL classes for me at all.

I went from being a caretaker in CT, to working and begging for 40 hours a week at one of the old Mervyn’s store in RWC. I then, having my work permit, I worked for a company in San Carlos as a press breaker. The other company close to it, Varian, with no fences to separate them, saw my energy and they offered me a job. There, I went from shipping, to receiving, to stockroom, and then production planning, and that was something so hard to attain for a foreigner, specially a Hispanic person with broken English like me. After they refused my plea for a petition for my green card, I then moved to work for a company called AG Associates in San Jose. The day I was entitled to my stock options, me and 300 more workers were laid off in 2008. I didn’t cry, grabbed the $3K they gave me and went to NY with my mother so she could enjoy life for a few days.

Painting homes for a living became my dream job. I enjoyed it, and still do it but for fun. And I am not a chitty painter.

I hold 3 licenses, Real Estate, P&C (home-auto insurance), and life insurance. The last ones I passed them within 2 months. They are easy to get, but too much if you go for a couple at a time.

So, me thinks those who believe they are smarter than others complain more in a subtle way. You just need to read them. There they can tell they are not happy with life. There’s always something to complain about. And my favorite response to them is: “if you are that smart, what the shell are you doing here?” You should be achieving a world where a Zuckerberg or a Bezos live, you’d be so busy no forum is needed.

By the way, I am 5:5, my boy is going to be taller than me, I already promised him $200 if he passes my height this year, I spoke too early, one inch away, he was 3 then, and he is still 5 months ahead. And he is good for math and swimming. My daughter too, except they talk a perfect, with no accent at all English.
