I don’t know…my former tenant bought a home near Seminary that is now worth over 700k…
East Oakland already gentrified big time. That’s why the people who got driven out of their homes had to live in tents alongside the roads now…
Really? Even east oakland is not considered gentrified? I thought people still get hit by stray bullets while sitting in their living rooms??
Not really… because a lot of black people already got driven out of their homes due to gentrification. Police are less likely to shoot dwellers if they are not black…
I am not talking about police shooting black people. They still do. I am talking about people just sitting in their living room eating dinner or whatever and got hit by stray bullets. I thought those were fairly recent, are they not?
Police shooting black people are the only scenario which I can see people being hit by bullets in West Oakland.
There were a few cases reported fairly recently say within a year or two, but again, no pain, no gain. It may be hard for you to fully grasp this concept but the Bayview used to be a no-no…
Only buy when there is blood in the streets…
Then Antioch is probably the only place worth buying…
East Oakland is big. Which part of east Oakland are you talking about?
Do you include Fruitvale in east Oakland?
I’m in upper Fruitvale by 580 which is pretty decent I think. When people think East Oakland, I want to think that would be say Seminary or the high avenues (90s and above)…
Richmond San Pablo Vallejo East San Jose… plenty of future gentrification areas
East Palo Alto is done gentrifying?
It is definitely overpriced…
But if Fremont is over $1m for little bungalows, maybe Shorview in San Mateo has some bargains…
My wife still bugs me for giving up on that San Mateo house with its own private beach…
Tell her she should be mindful of the tsunami…
Perhaps this unofficial but I consider East Oakland to be the areas east of High St and south of 580.
Yeah, High Street is probably as far as I would want to go east…
Then what’s the proper name for the area west of High St and south of 580?
I drove by Fruitvale, seems safe to walk.
