Tesla’s trillion dollar valuation is fast approaching

the 3 is an all around winner.

Just don’t try to get insurance for it, or pray nothing ever breaks, or have to bring it in for servicing. It’s a fine car if you keep it on a pedestal and don’t touch it.

My insurance payment is the same(difference of $5) between my Model3 and my 2nd ICE car. Both cars MSRP are similar.

Lolz, your opinion changes on your 3 quite a bit, just in a few months. You are making me rethink, but I think I might still go ahead with it.

My latest set of issues on the Tesla are - autopilot functionality that randomly disables itself and when it does it takes associates functionality like cruise control and emergency braking and lane keeping with it, a charging cover that doesn’t close flush, and more interior panels popping off on their own. Tesla has some real bad quality control

We have a 3. We have been lucky and had zero issues. Sorry to hear of your troubles.

Our insurance is not that much higher than before… :man_shrugging:t2:

Would you get a decent price if you just sell it and move on? Sacrifice some money and deal with less stress might be worth it.

Sorry you have had unfortunate issues that the majority of owners are NOT having.

I think quite a few customers are experiencing issues, even @Roy321 did. If Tesla really wanted to show it was a grownup company it would take care of all these issues instead of running away from them or trying to sweep it under the carpet. Each and everyone is valid and points to a design or manufacturing defect

Having posted/said that, my guess+hope is things will/have-already improve/d recently/going forward. It’s been a great driving car for me, except the ONE issue that I posted earlier.

Comparing to my ICE car, I had an issue which cropped up on my ICE car too, twice. The dealer fixed it under warranty without any Questions.

That CR was a joke. Have you looked at their actual table of reliability by vehicle area? (you know drivetrain, suspension, etc…).

They were above average in everything except like 2 categories. Body trim and paint.

Some early Model 3’s in 2017 (like 2000 of them) had suspensions that were too stiff.

So there are no large scale fundamental problems with the Model 3.

I am not arguing that service quality can’t improve, but don’t act like the cars are having all sorts of problems.

They evaluate tens to hundreds of cars every year. I’m sure they have the same formula which they apply to every car they test.

In this formula among other things, my guess is there are “weights”/severity AND there are frequencies, OR a combination of these 2. In Tesla’s case my guess is, the frequencies are much higher & hence the problem and are pushing Tesla numbers below competing cars in the category.

Yeah sure. Just like they “weighted” the suspension issues of 2017 cars, which were literally only 2000 of them. Meanwhile the next 300,000 of them don’t have this issue, but it’s still mentioned…:thinking:

So basically since the only issues are superficial, a potential buyer can look over the vehicle and evaluate for themselves if the fit and body panel finishes are good enough for them.

Yeah, all the “big boys” are really coming after Tesla with their more expensive, less energy dense batteries and drivetrain. Oh noes…

All first year models of any car have quality control issues.
