I like Tesla. But cars are all about image. The Tesla brand is for urban environmentalists.

Why are people buying electric vehicles when gas is the cheapest it’s ever been if you look at inflation? . In fact Canadian oil is $4.18 a barrel. That is 10 cents gallon, because their only customer is China, and they aren’t buying. In some places in the US gas is less than a buck a gallon. That means in CA we are paying 100% or more in gas taxes. In Placerville it was $2.30

So much cheap gas but nowhere to go.
Nobody putting down 50K for a Tesla is gonna worry about gas prices. Barking at the wrong tree I say.
Maybe some rich environmentalists that have swallowed the koolaid will keep buying. But when your stock portfolio is down 25% and your tenants can stay free thanks to Newsom is anyone buying luxury toys? I bet Nissan and the Bolt will be hurt also.
Time to buy a gas guzzling boat for the rich and aimless.
Nissan and Bolt gonna hurt but don’t think Tesla gonna be hurt all that much. Restaurant and retail workers are not the target clientele anyway. Actually now that there is no other place to spend money the savings of someone with a steady job will soar. Ask the techies on this forum. Many have money burning holes in their pockets.

Don’t discount the driving experience of an EV, esp Tesla, compared to a ICE car.

Wholesale gas in the Midwest is ten cents a gallon. 90 cents retail at the pump. Gas has never been this cheap ever. The greenies are going to have a hard time forcing their overpriced toys down the throats of Americans who believe God,guns,guts and gasoline will set you free 
Looks like crude is going Up, meeting tomorrow to cut production
Demand is down 30m barrels a day. Supply cuts discussed are 10m a day. Prices will continue to drop until demand picks up. The best move I have made lately is selling my oil stocks in December. The values dropped up to 80%. Stabilizing a bit but I bet they will go down soon. I wonder if gas stations will start closing. Won’t be able to pay rent.
