Tesla has previously received significant incentives for choosing sites for its assembly plants. In 2014, Nevada agreed to a $1.3 billion incentives deal to lure Tesla’s battery factory to a site near Reno.

Give the poor billionaire 3B this time. Austin needs the star power.

It is common to a growing company to hold multiple manufacturing location so that they can manage their supply chain network in case of any big disaster.

If, for any reasons, CA plants are not working, they can still supply from other locations.
