There is a political angle to it. Elon Musk is a genius in many areas.
He is an extortionist, liar and a thief. But he is brilliant at it. How many billions has the government given already? And he wants more? I admire his chutzpah

Show me a CEO who does not have such qualities? He/She has to have such skills to come up in the ladder. 
There is Space X that will become obvious with time. some other country who knows space well has written essay about it regarding costs. but problem is we have destroyed so many industries that its hard to create alternatives at reasonable cost, time and price. CEO with power of stock market behind him become all too power full. there is no way to stop unless wrecking the market.
Once he started his German investments. and than Turkish visit. (biggest suppliers of labor to German) should have been raised by shareholders… because these countries cannot save themselves from Russians in digital world and this happening for long time.

In reality Tesla increased their EV market share from 2018 to 2019. How many of those new models shown in some random car show will actually be on the market anytime soon? How well will they sell?
VW, the biggest car firm in that almighty Europe you are so in love with, had only 3.7% market share last year. Toyota, the world’s biggest, doesn’t even show up. What happens with Russia? Where is Putin’s secret EV?

its not random links. Its World biggest Auto show. and most foreign automakers are there with alot of Electric vehicles on launch.
Most of Tesla sales are cheapest $35K Model 3. Tesla is practicallly out of Premium segment. It does not want to park its cars next to premium brands and that include Chinese brands.

What if Trump wins?. He is no fan of EV. EV has only survived with crazy Ca type laws that say all EV by 2035.
What happens without all the climate change hysteria?
Climate change is real regardless of who is in power. We should be glad Tesla is an American company. China is pushing their EV industry hard and have committed to carbon neutrality by 2060. Whether they succeed or not is not the point. The point is they will try.
If we don’t own the EV tech stack China will. It’s too important an industry to let it be controlled by China. We need to own it and Tesla is an important piece.
