Build trailer parks…
They need to go vertical with them though. That way they get as much use out of the land as possible. I still think it’s insane to try to house homeless people in one of the most expensive areas of the entire country. If they had family, friends, and support in SF, then they wouldn’t be homeless. They’d live with family. There’s no reason to not put them in a less expensive city and build cheaper housing there for them.
Interesting. But in reality it costs $700/sf to build housing in the BA . Same cost for work force market housing as affordable housing. The codes regulations and zoning are the same. Luxury housing cists at least $1000/sf. Excluding land costs
I still don’t understand what encampment sweeps accomplish. It just moves them from one area to another. They aren’t actually getting people off the streets.
.
Elected politicians must be held accountable. Oh wait, it’s California. It’s a one-party system at this point.
Something doesn’t add up to me. There is an INSANE amount of funding between federal, state, county, city, and non-profit. Where is it all going? If a program actually works, then everyone should get behind funding it.
I don’t understand the lack of resources. Someone needs to be tracking all the spend across all the government levels and non-profits. There should never be a lack of resources with how much is being spent. If it’s being spent on things that are ineffective or inefficient, then we should shift the priorities. I feel like this is all a setup to say we need to spend more money which is honestly insane.
The priority should be getting people jobs including getting people off drugs and alcohol so that they can work them. Then you can talk about affordable housing if the minimum wage won’t cut it. But there’s no point to having not enough low-income workers while having a bunch of homeless people who aren’t working.
The Nanny State has created 3 generations of people that are incapable of working. All the free shit has literally created a large underclass of people that will never be capable of work. Their parents and even grandparents haven’t worked. There is no value for education, work or even in joining civil society. The zombie apocalypse is now and was created by progressive policies since the 60’s.
How do you explain the fact that in spite of the California Govt quite literally being the definition of absolute disaster - wasteful, inefficient, and an operating model more embarrassing than a disease spreading whore, is able to make California an ever increasing dominant force in the world, the tech capital, the culture capital, the entertainment capital, the innovation capital, and with an economy larger than UK, France, Germany, and India. And its relative position keeps rising.
They must be doing something right, no?
