Welcome back!

Hi BAzx! How are you? Damn, your memory is faaaantastic!!!

Unfortunately, nope, I sold it and did it on eBay just to see how it would go. My car had the right stuff (black, last year, SI, clean title, orig 180k? miles, etc) but it really needed a min $5K paint job. I am still surprised to this day that no one tried to steal it. (Maybe, not as nice as I thought! LOL) I parked it outside, right on the corner of my home, and that intersection was well traveled due to that nearby Safeway on Noriega.

So, on eBay, as you can imagine, a lot of contact from folks all over the country. Bad thing is, different questions from different folks. Then, the additional picture taking wanted by folks. At the end of the day, I sold it to a guy who was going to restore it with his son. For that, I essentially told him what my reserve price was. He drove up from San Diego with a trailer and boom off she went. I sold it for a tad less than $5K which was fine (more than what I bought it for eons ago). Honestly, I don’t miss it as much as the Porsche 912 deal that I missed out on. My co-worker at the time was retiring and he had this pristine 912 (and, it might have been a semi rare one) in his garage and he was willing to sell to me for $7k. I had the money but no extra parking (Damn Sunset inlaw!!!). I told my rich brother to get it but he also mistakenly said, nah that is not a ā€œrealā€ Porsche. Well, that baby today is worth about $40-50K easily. It was sweeeeet. Yes, one of my missed opps…

I am still driving my SUV but with Covid I haven’t needed to drive for work in well over 2 years. We actually moved to work from home well in advance of the pandemic. We will go back in phases later this year at most hopefully 2-3 days a week. My company offers a sabbatical benefit so I just got back from Malaysia for a month’s stay. Thank you, Employer!!! That trip was life transforming. I got my visa papers done, so I can stay in Malaysia all I want. Not a citizen, but I can buy property now, etc…

What is shaking in your world? Anything interesting? Any major investment moves/wins???
