On the other hand, my wife and I had lunch in Mountain View Castro today. When leaving we drove by the apartment building just across the train tracks at 100 Moffett. My wife got interested and called to check the rent. Rent for 2-bd apartment is $5100 and 1-bd starts at $3900. Wow. That’s way more than what I charge for 4-bd SFH in Oakland …

I can make deliveries. Gas is $1.5/gal cheaper in Carson City.

What I THOUGHT she was going to say was “In China, you call the police when you see a homeless person… And he gets a ticket… “home”. If he has a family, they will berate him for being homeless and guilt trip him into how awful he is. If he doesn’t, he goes on “social welfare” and we never see him again because the government moves him to a forced labor camp. So no one will be homeless because it’s a horrible way to live.”

I would expect seasonality to make a play here (down). Rents have already firmed up a lot from one year ago.
