Trump tweets

Earlier today Trump tweeted that 4 congresswomen should go back to the country they were born in. Three of them were born in the United States, by the way. If that’s not them most bigoted thing he’s done yet, I don’'t know what is.

Just remember sheriff, just remember, at some point in life, most countries, included the US were “shitholes”. If the rest of the world wasn’t at some point, what are those Americans saying they are 4th-5th, whatever generation of “whatever” country? If they came to America, we can that their countries of origin were that specific adjective then. Because nobody smart, intelligent, savvy to do business would leave their country, right?

The Irish weren’t accepted for renting any housing, but dogs, yes!
The Chinese?
The Italians?
Indians as Talibans?

That’s why we have such “names” as spics, chinks, wetbacks, the word N, and now, Guatemalans as Guats. From the same border patrol language uncovered in forums specifically full of border patrol agents. Sad to know most border patrol agents are Hispanic.

What’s worry me is the fact that immigrants, once subject of discrimination and bigotry are sitting silent on the side on this forum, and celebrate, and cheer this administration. Which at some point is discriminating them if you read what’s going on with “go back to your country”.

Just today, that lady Conway asked a reporter for his ethnicity. Wow! We are getting to accept bigotry and racism as normalcy. Shame on anybody supporting this administration. Shame!

To be clear, this was the tweet:

“So interesting to see ‘Progressive’ Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how it is done.”

It’s racist because it implies people of color are somehow less American, that they don’t belong here and should go back to “where they came from”. People who made those comments don’t check where people originally came from, just that they are not white. In fact two of the four congresswomen were born in America.

I haven’t been following what’s going on with AOC and the three others, but I take from it that he feels they’re trying to change our government from the capitalistic democracy/republic that it is to the forms of government that are failing in the places of their heritage.

I don’t see that as racist, but as an attack on their attempts to try to make the US become more socialistic. Am I misreading?

Pelosi was at war with AOC and other socialists. Why did Trump try to defend Pelosi? Did Trump and Pelosi find some common ground? Now Pelosi and AOC have found a common ground to attack Trump

He could focus on socialism, but he focused on the foreign country other people are related with.

Seems that he did not expect the reaction. He told the audience that people’s 401k will suffer if they don’t RE-elect him. That’s not enough. I think Trump faces a tough RE-election and he didn’t even know about it.

It’s possible that his trade war with China won’t resolve quickly and won’t achieve much and jeopardize his re-election.

Yeah… pretty odd.

Maybe he was jealous of Pelosi getting some spotlight and immediately took over her as the focus of media

What happened to this country? A crass, narcissistic, vulgar, traitor to America by kissing putin’s rear end while insulting our security agencies has an acceptance of whatever he does, it doesn’t matter if he is a racist, he gets a pass, no matter if he is a women/sexual predator! There’s no fault in him, nothing is bad, everything is cool, he is just joking, he says it as it is.

Any woman supporting a 3 times wife cheater should really check herself at the nearest psycho unit. What morals do they have? Do they will bow next time their husbands cheat on them? They accept it as normalcy, so, why complaining?

First mistake: The statement of “their country full of whatever, corruption, criminals, etc”, didn’t pass the Litmus test. Their country “the US” is full of that, you need to see the white house and its corruption, Nepotism, golfing at his own clubs, that is corruption at the highest levels. This dumb president is not the smartest cookie in the jar, isn’t it? Insulting himself. :joy:

Second: He projects onto others what he is when complaining about most anything. Teleprompter? Oh, Obama uses that much, he can’t elaborate, etc. And what the dumb president does? He goes, live, on the very 4th of July and says that the Continental Army took over the airports. :joy::joy::joy:

I can’t believe all the crap he says and that’s OK. Including racist twits and calling women dogs and pigs. I remember when they complained about Obama wearing a tan suit. They went nuts! Nowadays? Crickets.

I am living in a banana republic now. Chavez, Castro rotting in hell, and Maduro for sure must be jealous. They wish to exchange countries, they would fit perfectly.

Imagine Apple hiring a blackberry employee who then tells Tim Cook that he’s running Apple wrong. He should run it the same way blackberry is run. How insanely ignorant and asinine would that employee look?

It has nothing to do with color and the fact they are saying American should be run like other counties that are completely dysfunctional. How idiotic is it to leave a country of dysfunction then demand your new country become like the dysfunctional one?

You have every right to stick to the facts, to the meat of the argument. If you have issues with what they are proposing, say it. Give reasons.

It’s not OK to make racist comments, to tell Americans go back to “where they come from”. As I pointed out, two of the four Congresswomen were in fact born in America. Where should they go back to?

It has nothing to do with countries or socialism or this and that. It’s clear to people of color like me who have heard that comments directed at them.

Are you advocating that the US pass laws to be the same as your prior country? It’s amazing to me that people move to the US then complain it’s not like the country they left.

You’re also paraphrasing in a purposely inflammatory way. It’s getting exhausting to watch people do that so they can be victims.

@manch FIFY.

I am advocating people stick to factual and reasonable arguments without being a racist. Is that that difficult?

Again, two of the four targeted women were born in America. What prior countries are you talking about?

Are you saying naturalized Americans can’t make any suggestion how America should be run? We should just shut up and accept the status quo?

Not sure why all the emphasis is placed on the fact that those Congresswomen were born in America. Even if they were not, if they are citizens I don’t see why it’d make it okay for others to tell them to go back to their countries of origin. Not that I think these Congresswomen’s argument made any sense to begin with, but it’s not appropriate for a political leader to make a remark like that. However, let’s face it, tons of people feel that way deep down about people of color.

When people cry racism, all it means is they don’t have logic and facts to make an argument.

2 of 4 weren’t born in America. You’re also jumping to racism instead of understanding the point. They are claiming the country of their ancestors is better and the US should be more like it. They are the ones that started the comparison between the US and the country of their ancestry. They are calling America inferior. Do you see Americans claiming racism about it? Pointing out that the US is better than the country in their comparison isn’t racist.

You are implying racism doesn’t exist in America. Maybe to you it’s invisible. For me at least I can see it.

Because it’s the easiest way to poke holes into their argument. I agree with you. it shouldn’t have mattered.

By the way it was 3 out 4 born in the USA. The fourth was born in Somalia and naturalized as a teenager. Their views also represent the views of the majority of voters in their district. That’s how they got elected.
