I have been betting on the BA since 1976.
Been betting on the Sacramento MSA since 1989. Keep an eye on long term trends. RE investing is a marathon not a sprint.
Yes, a certain city in Texas is pushed desperately by one or two posters. You have to wonder how great it is there but Iâve never been so perhaps itâs all itâs cracked up to beâŚ
I have two friends in Austin. No matter what, it is still Texas. Not for me. Hot humid summers and cold winters. No beach. No skiing. The best way to make money in Texas RE is to build and sell. Did ok doing that there. My one friend builds strip malls the other is flipping houses. She likes the low entry costs. We will see if she likes the low profits also.

âAccordingly, 2020 will prove to be the most challenging year for buyers, not because of what they can afford but rather what they canât find.â
BS. Paid me 50% above market, my house is yours. If you are willing to pay, even houses not on the market can be had. Asked Mark Zuckerberg, he paid twice the market price to acquire 3 houses surrounding his.
Price is not what Zillow say, but what someone is willing to pay.
Donât get how given their premise of housing demand will be strong, supply will be even tighter, and yet their conclusion is prices will fall? What kind of logic is that? I read that article looking for clues but didnât find any. Can anyone explain?
As per @pandeyathotmail said. These homebuyers want to pay peanuts so there are few sellers willing to sell at those price hence low inventory.
If millienals want houses they have get off their computers and start building. I have been remodeling and building for 40 years. Bitching and whining doesnât put together sticks and bricks. Time for the whiney generation to get off their asses and start building.
â The report relies on scientific findings that project sea-level rise reaching half a foot in 2030 and about seven feet by 2100, although other state-commissioned projections place sea-level rise at closer to 10 feet in 2100.â
Iâm going to laugh at their projections.
Lots of science on problems. How about more science on solutions? Seems like climatologists love trying to scare people. How about finding civil engineers and power generation engineers to come up with solutions? Climatologists canât build or create anything but bullshit.
How about taking all the fresh water from Greenland and Antartica and running it through pipelines to the worlds deserts? More Nuclear energy. More battery and energy storage capacity?
Greta needs less attention and young engineers with solutions more attention
Yet, thereâs zero discussion around changing zoning, permits/fees, and building codes to lower costs. Thereâs also zero discussion of adding vocational programs to high schools to address the shortage of construction workers. The only âsolutionsâ are different forms of income redistribution.
Shouldnât the headline be âshortage hits record highâ?
