Don’t forget me!
Puru is a trader like Soros. You need to be flexible and ready and willing to change your “beliefs” at a moment’s notice. His lack of conviction is a feature, not a bug, for a trader.
I retired at 44 NW (including owner-occupied house) $0.75M.
Great! Ppl usually say need min 10M to retire. What made you to retire with .75M?
Follow my wife to USA
At what age and NW all you guys retired?
@manch @caiguycaiguy
I’m not retired. I am managing my rentals. Dealing with w-2 job is easy compared to dealing with my tenants!
I quit 3 years ago when I was 31.
quit at 31 I’m 34 should I quit
quit at 31 I’m 34 should I quit
If you like your job or like working, don’t quit. I’m bored to death! I have way too much free time. My friends are working. I don’t have kids so I have many hours free.
If I was more driven by money, I should Not have quit. Collect my paychecks and keep buying properties but sadly I’m not that hungry. I just have low expenses and no expensive hobbies.
if I quit, can’t pay mortgage! need more time

We’ll be here to celebrate with you when you can make the leap!
I don’t understand why you guys are celebrating quitting a W2 job at an early age as a good thing. I would think the opposite - quitting one’s professional career and W2 job is not desirable.
I am in my mid 40s and have been working a W2 job continuously for over 20 years. Been with the current employer for more than 10 years now. I neither want to quit working, nor even leave my current employer. I am just an average engineer in a large multi national company - not any high up manager (in fact I manage no one, I am what is called an individual contributor).
I figure retirement will happen when either I no longer have good enough health to work or when no employers in my field want to employ me. I hope to work till I am
62 at least. I don’t get why people want to “retire” in their 30s and 40s.
May be enjoy life more at early age and do more things which one would like to do I.e. travel the world, learn something totally different etc instead of being a slave and ask permission to even take a sick day off?
I think it’s good to keep your day job if you are in a position of power, such as an executive. Otherwise, better sharpen up your investment skills. Being a worker bee is not fun.
I haven’t had a W2 job since I was 33. Have been self employed ever since. The more time spent investing will pay off better than a W2 job. Working in a corporate world is all about politics and ass kissing. If that is your thing go for it. Most engineers are terrible at that stuff and end up being exploited by ass kissing corporate types. Engineers generally transition into management in their 40s. They need to get an MBA to do that successfully. Either that or find another career.
Do what you do best and follow your own instincts. Btw I still work as an investor and property manager. Investing and deal making is fun. Property management is not… but still more fun than corporate politics.
I had to be away for couple of weeks. What a nice graphics to reenter.
But, how do you know from the beginning that inflection point will ever come (and when)
How does one know which stage one is in? Eg., inflection point vs growth surge?
agreed. my W2 job got busy these last couple of weeks and I have missed some good opps. AAAGH.
