100 baggers/ Growth Stocks

IMHO, top leadership especially the CEO is the most critical in a company’s success… he graduated from the same university as @marcus335

“In an inflationary environment, in my very simplistic view of the world, I want to own three things: hypergrowth, because hypergrowth can always out-run inflation…cash-generative assets…and then I want to own non-correlated assets.”

Palihapitiya defines hypergrowth companies and businesses that are growing 50% or more each year. The technology investor mentioned Sofi, Opendoor Technologies and Clover Health, all of which he helped take public through special purpose acquisition companies.

How Palantir’s Edge-AI Technology Leverages Satellites to Protect the Globe

Can you, the reader, let me know your opinion? Can Palantir 100x from here? Can it be a $5T company?

Hope so :star_struck:

How much low do you allow your holdings in buy-n-hold-for-10-plus-years bucket to go ? Some of them have dropped as much as about 14% in last week. For example, I entered MTTR and AFRM late so they are down for me.

.

For AAPLs, I went through at least 1 90% drop, at least 2 50% drop and many over 20% drops. Buy n hold, you don’t care about the temp price declines, you only care about the bullish thesis. So long the thesis is not broken, price declines are opportunities to buy more. As I said before, if at $20, expected return is 5x over 10 years, at $10, expected return is 10x over 10 years. At $1, expected return is 100x over 10 years. Lower price means better return.

Buy n hold implies you have done your DD and have high conviction. Doesn’t apply to those stocks you merely want to trade and don’t believe in. Trading is always about position sizing and entry/exit criteria. Buy n hold is completely different. Not many believe in buy n hold or able to do buy n hold. If you are those who can’t stand losing 90%, probably shouldn’t do buy n hold.

You should read the book by Phil Fisher, Common stocks and uncommon profit. You can skip the rest first and read the chapters on when to sell.

I entered late to AFRM too, still green…

Smart money probably knew this early. Unfavorable implication. A palantir solution is to be replaced with a system with similar capabilities, implying PLTR is charging too high. This kind of break the bullish thesis, need to monitor closely. No wonder the chart is so ambiguous. Anyhoo, the biggest issue I feel about PLTR is the SBC is so damn high, last quarter is more than the revenue, yes, revenue not earning. The expectation is that it won’t be from next quarter onwards, need to monitor, otherwise, no point investing since no hope of being profitable GAAP wise.

A friend of has been holding AMD from the time it was selling for a few Dollars like $3. Holding a stock when company seems to have no future and no investor interest is very hard.

Exactly. All my friends and colleagues are laughing at me for buying AAPL in 1997. They said Mac is a niche market and won’t last long, is a WinTel world. Many blogs like Yahoo!Finance are counting the days that Apple would go chapter 12 and laughing at bag holders like me as idiots. They said Apple is a one trick pony, Bondi Mac is a fad, iPod is a fad, etc. Actually they are right. The thing they didn’t account for is people can change things, they underestimate SJ.

PLTR: Judgement Day

Bullish count in green or bearish count in yellow?

If bullish thesis is unchanged, yellow count of $12 is gift to buy n hold investors from heaven.

If you’re traders, should wait till breaking above $29 to buy or breaking below $20 to short or be aggressive long now for shot to $46 or be aggressive short now for down to $12.

U: A trivial update that @manch likes… I didn’t bother to draw the iHS pattern with price target of $156, IMHO is just a special instance of an EW pattern.

MTTR: Non trivial update for @erth

If my bullish thesis is correct… take note that RJ Pittman has started a few companies but otherwise is an untested CEO.

@hanera is this a bullish comment or bearish comment?

RJ Pittman? Mean I am not sure. I need to do more scuttlebutt on him. Listen to more of his talk. Does he looks smart to you?

MTTR:
As I said before, if it shoots up too fast, I prefer to short put if I am FOMO…

Assigned price of short put is $19.31, current price is $18.72, lost 59 cents. However, from my EWA, the apex of the triangle (I suspect is a triangle for wave (iv)) is $20.71 so high probability I would collect premium for free.

motley fool is very bullish on MTTR

You need to be at least a level 3 investor to dabble in potential 100x to 1000x bagger.

We are aiming to be the fourth major public cloud,” Prince said. Cloudflare already offers a serverless compute service called Workers, and Prince thinks that adding a low-cost storage service will encourage more developers and companies to build applications around Cloudflare’s services.

Some interesting history of PLTR.
