AAPL and Apple

Translation: they are not adding headcount.

I was speaking today with a friend who works in the apple spaceship. Apparently there isn’t any room in the spaceship for new employees anymore. And apple is having to compete with the other fang for office space.
So, in addition to Seattle, San Diego is another place that Apple is hiring more at.

A friend of mine told me they are building a big campus in Research Triangle ( where is it - Durham, NC?)

.

I think is in the paper. Can’t remember where. Few years ago wanted to expand there but because of not friendly to LGBTs (2 of the leadership officially said they are), last minute change to build Campus 2 in Austin.

Yes, that’s why I think they are just safeguarding their territory, keeping out anyone else from setting up shop near their HQ

AAPL sounds like old technology company when compared with newbies doing AI and big data. The center of such companies is Seattle Area ( home of zillow, amazon, microsoft etc)

AI is going where Apple has being going for decades, AI in the edge.

AMZN and MSFT are not young companies.

You and the little dragon have been saying so since … can’t remember.

@manch may have a point here. Aren’t handheld phones at the same stage where desktop PC was in 2000?

@manch keeps saying that every year. Just like broken mechanical clock would be right twice a day, he would eventually be right. Did desktop PC peak in year 2000? I have no idea.

Apple Park (space ship) only sits around 10-12k employees. There are probably >40k Apple employees in Santa Clara. So most of the employees are not at Apple Park.

Apple has over 100 office buildings in the area. The large campuses are in Cupertino:

  • Apple Park
  • Tantau
  • De Anza (old headquarter Infinite Loop)
  • Stevens Creek
  • Bubb

And Sunnyvale:

  • Wolf/Central to Lawrence/Central
  • Mathilda/Mary

On Apple Map, you can search Apple Building and you can zoom in and see these.

Above count is invalidated because price dropped below wave i… it becomes more bullish :scream:

AAPL is in wave (3) of wave iii, very powerful uptrend wave, fasten your seatbelt…

Caveat: Above is not a financial advice and is viewed from a permabull’s glasses

Because Apple is late SJ greatest creation.

Good point. Despite the charisma that lives with his name, SJ did create a good organization. Although, I would say apple has not created any product of significance since the death of SJ. It is remarkable because several companies have gone bust after the departure of their charismatic CEO, particularly when the charismatic leaders did not leave a good team behind.

Apple has an University to indoctrinate teach management about Apple (actually is late SJ) values. Education can help only so much, you need a good ingredient (CEO  ) to fully absorb the values. The next CEO after Tim Cook is important to the continued success of Apple.

I haven’t upgraded my iphone since 11. I was planning on upgrading to iphone13 as I have done since the release of the iphone (every 2 years). I see no reason to do so this cycle. I haven’t used my watch for ages. I’m waiting for macbook pro 14 inch though and I still love my ipad pro. I also pay for the icloud service but keep dropbox and gdrive. Apple is falling behind in many innovation metrics. To me, their greatest product since the iphone is the airpod because it allowed me to lay side on my head and watch netflix at night.
