AAPL and Apple

what about M1 chip?

I wouldn’t consider that a product but it is a great incremental innovation. It’s what’s making me want to buy a new macbook pro and ipad pro. For normal consumers, it doesn’t matter.

We’ve also maintained that Apple is running out of near-term growth markets so it makes sense they’re looking for ways to expand their revenue.

Don’t understand what Beth meant. How do Apple gain from the mobile consumer privacy changes?

Minor update… hard not to be bullish…

The fight between Apple and Epic is not just about the Appstore. Is a big issue for metaverse. Tim Sweeney wants to use this to set a precedent.

Apple is fighting a loosing battle. Funny enough, Apple promoted left in government. Now, the very same people are coming back to eat apple.

Making money is above left or right. I am wondering who would want to host the metaverse if can’t collect transactional fees or rent for space used or services provided. Apple needs to change the monetization model of AppleStore to prepare for the metaverse.

We are basically coming to the question of right to property and right to earn. Personally, I think the Apple has these rights. But, the people who are in the control of regulating agencies and legislatures do not think the way I do.

Just be more clear. I do not hate monopolies. I am with Apple on this. I believe all monopolies are temporary because free markets work their way out around monopolies if left to themselves.

So Apple is still peddling a guy who died 10 years ago to sell products. Nobody alive there is any good?

ATT had a monopoly for 100 years.

I would say more like 30 years. It was split into several companies in 1980. Did not become a serious force in telephony till 1950s. Even if it had not split, it would have enabled rapid adoption of mobile telephony 10 years earlier.

Who are you? How long have you lived in America?

I remember when a long distance phone call could cost $100. ATT stifled all competition. Phones basically didn’t change for 100 years thanks to their monopoly.

Everyone hated Ma bell… AT&T established a network of local telephone subsidiaries in the United States. AT&T and its subsidiaries held a phone service monopoly, authorized in 1913 by government authorities with the Kingsbury Commitment, throughout most of the twentieth century.[29] This monopoly was known as the Bell System,[30] and during this period, AT&T was also known by the nickname Ma Bell.[31]

An understanding of industry structure is required to answer your question. Some activities are by nature monopoly, or oligopoly. In the early days, AT&T needed to build lines and connect homes, so government protected its investment by giving it a monopoly status in exchange of government supervision. So did AT&T. It laid lines and connected homes. After 1950, when direct dialing started, and in 1960, touch-tone started, the telephone services became very popular and homes starting having more than one line. People started calling long-distance (thanks to STD -subscriber trunk dialing) directly. When the market matured, AT&T was broken up in 1980s. Thats all.

Not good publicity for Apple…

I am not sure what happened in this situation but I feel apple has had enough of woke employees in general and are finding ways to get rid of them.
