What I like about Amazon is they get the USPS to work on Sundays, at reduced rates. Capitalism at its best. Makes Trump green with envy. Think about it, they made the post office 15% more efficient by getting rid of idle capacity one day a week. what is next? 24/7 deliveries??? With or without Uber.

Amazon gets cheaper rates because it does all the sorting to route for USPS. They are literally loaded on a truck that can just go do it’s route. The sorting of which package needs to go on each route is super labor intensive for USPS. That also means it’s only used within local delivery distance of the facility.
Do you think Amazon should buy USPS?
No way. Those union contracts and pensions are killer. USPS loses a ton of money because of them and tax payers subsidize it. Amazon has found people will use their own cars to deliver packages at a much lower cost than USPS workers. Also, that model doesn’t require amazon to own or maintain delivery vehicles.
Is USA the only nation still have union?
European unions are still common.
Anyone here goes to Walmart or target regularly?
Whatever the future of retail is, it certainly won’t involve dinosaurs like these two.
I go to Walmart and own Walmart and Amazon stock. I think there is room for both.
