You will be beaten up in Austin because nobody wear masks except the cashiers in Ranch 99. In HMart, even cashiers don’t wear. Crowds in restaurants as per normal.

I have months of toilet paper and bottled water as a matter of routine not arising from Covid-19. However, I do need some anti-bacteria wipes! Otherwise have to use the smelly bleach.
Doubt it. Believe many have bought puts because the big ones are those that have survived the financial crisis.
Reading between the lines from advice by medical experts is you are unlikely to breathe in the virus. The person2person transmission is mostly from your hand touching some infected areas/virus drop on your hands and then touching your eyes, noses and faces.
Again, oil is 100x bigger story than Covid-19. There’s no materially new news on Covid-19 yet the market circuit breaker was triggered. It was triggered on futures after the OPEC+ announcement.

We can forget about Covid-19 now. Whatever news is politicians jabbing each other, doctors trying to shine, and media siding with their favorite politicians/ doctors.

Frankly if not for the media and some politicians, Covid-19 is not a big issue.
Let’s face it, old folks like me don’t actively contribute in building the future society, we are nearly 100% consumers and nearly 0% productive contributions. The future of the mankind, 0-10 years old very safe. Currently very productive 18-50 years old, low death rate. So who is the asshole who blow this up and panic everyone? Now the supply chain is choked, some businesses are going to bankrupt and some people would become unemployed.
Whereas, collapse of oil lead to collapse of oil companies and domino effect of business failures and unemployment. Gradual oil decline is good, sudden drop in price is BAD.
The Saudis wanted to cut because oil prices was in the toilet after the Chinese economy froze up. It’s a black swan spawned by the original virus black swan. Calling it unrelated is like saying Lehman’s fall has no relationship to subprime.

The rumors about the last Friday VIX (Zero hedge) issue belongs to JP Morgan. This is still rumor, no one have full detail.
Saudis have always wanted to kill off the shale oil drillers. Just taking this opportunity to do so.

They can’t kill the shale guys. Some of them will go bust but they are like cockroaches. Some die off but more will be spawned. They may kill off Iran though. Maybe it’s their unsaid goal anyway.

I saw some article saying the medical system basically collapse in italy. Medical staff got infected and not enough hospital beds. So infected will not able to get treated , minor later becomes serious .serious becomes …

In a national emergency, can US conscript the healthcare professionals? If I didn’t read wrongly, healthcare professionals are conscripted all over China to work in Wuhan. Sorry, I am not au fait with American system.
It just occurs to me there aren’t that many cases in San Diego. LA has a lot of people coming in from around the world so that’s hard to contain.
Temperature in Sacramento is already in the 70s. I saw a coupe days back on weather channel this spring will be warmer than usual for much of the country except the northwest. There is hope we won’t have a widespread breakout like Italy and Korea.

Such a large nation like India has only 47 confirmed cases? No deaths and no critical/serious cases.
Pakistan 16 cases, Afghanistan 4 cases and Sri Lanka 1 case. Covid-19 seems to be selective.
