Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 Covid-19

Good that @manch has shaved today.

While China has been successful in suppressing Covid so far, it’s a bad policy going forward. They can’t just keep shutting down the whole town every time there’s one single case.

As much as I made fun of Singapore, its policy is much saner than China and Hong Kong’s. Another day that HK shuts its border, it’s another day Singapore steals its banking business.

Same with Australia.

Interesting facts about the Pfizer vaccines and deaths…

It’s been super hard to get an appointment for ages 5-11. I’ve spent a couple of hours on myturn/sccvax sites and finally got one for a few days out. Horrible sites btw.

I think people should just wait a week. If you’re that worried, keep the kids out of school for the week.

One of my friends made an appt and it sounds like they didn’t have the age appropriate vials.

That’s conclusion after spending 1hr on various appointment site. I’ll let things settle down, I don’t think there is more risk than last week.

This is a long video, so maybe something to watch/listen to when you’re commuting/exercising, but a really great interview with a mountain biker from Iowa on the development of multiple adverse reactions to his second dose of Pfizer.

One thing that interests me is that the arthritis he had is similar to what I had (though his lasted much longer) where places you had broken a bone - even years ago - that you thought had healed, hurt after the vaccine.

Second is that it’s likely that a metallic taste after vaccination means that the vaccine went into a blood vessel.

Third - essentially malpractice in the emergency room. This guy is a mountain biker and wears a watch that measures his pulse. He is insanely in tune with what his numbers should be whether he’s resting biking or what…, but the emergency doc told him he was psycotic when his pulse more than doubled and wouldn’t come down.

Fourth - he points out that in a war, you don’t leave your fellow soldier behind. In the war against Covid, that means not leaving your fellow Americans who have vaccine injuries behind nor kicking them while they’re down.

Fifth - any delays in the FDA/CDC acknowledging side effects can have drastic effects on people’s ability to get medical care including medications.

Wow! Another from this doctor - accidental intravenous injection is the likely cause of the myocarditis/pericarditis issues, but it doesn’t happen with intramuscular injection.

Families flock from across Northern California to this Bay Area city for first kid COVID vaccines

ā€œI’m looking forward to everything going back to normal,ā€ the Delaine Eastin Elementary third-grader said at Emmanuel Baptist Church as she sat post-jab beside her 6-year-old sister, Audrey, coloring connect-the-dot pictures for 15 minutes so nurses could ensure everything went fine before sending them on their way.

They were among hundreds of kids and parents who flocked to mass vaccination sites Wednesday in Santa Clara County, one of the first Bay Area places to begin offering the pediatric version of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine a day after federal regulators cleared the shots for emergency use following safety reviews by expert panels.

I would assume that means hospitalization costs, but testing would still be free?

ā€œPatients who are unvaccinated by choice may still use other health care financing options to pay their bills, such as government subsidies and private insurance, it added. Even for those who are unvaccinated, billing ā€œwill still be highly supported and highly subsidized,ā€ Mr. Ong said.ā€

Case count shouldn’t be something we track anymore…

Why?
