Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 Covid-19

This is a note in a bowling alley due to coronavirus scare.

“Refrain from touching other people’s balls. Please wash your hands after touching your own balls. Thank you!”.

If Newsom is correct no point in staying home. Get on with business and just quarantine if you are vulnerable. We will know if he is right in 2 weeks.

On a day of relentless and sobering news about the coronavirus, California Gov. Gavin Newsom unveiled an alarming projection: More than half the 40-plus million people in his state will contract COVID-19 in the next eight weeks.

Why is he doing this? I mean this will create lots of hardships for people. He hasn’t even provided an end date to this. We get our milk from a farmer and he sounded despondent, as he has to pay his bills, feed his cows etc. We’re still getting our milk from him but it felt like there were fewer customers today. He is the lucky one(relatively), However for lots of people there will be ZERO business.

Seems like over reaction isn’t it? It’ll have a bad effect on the poor and later for everyone.

You get milk directly from a farmer? Wow

A cynical way to put is that I did not vote (I do not vote for anyone) for this guy and not let anyone who knows me do the same.

I just watched his whole Newsom speech. I am not a fan. But he has a valid point… it is worth trying mass quarantines to flatten the curve so as not overwhelm the hospitals. But if it doesn’t work and 186 million become infected then it is better just to get rid of the quarantine and let everyone go back to work. By then mass immunization will kick in. The weak will be dead and we can get our lives back. Unfortunately will happen eventually even if it takes a couple of years before vaccinations become effective

Besides skiing, you’re life probably didn’t change much no?

I was putting in a toilet today. My wife is freaking out, afraid to visit friends and all my tenants are about to get laid off. My life turned to shit today.

Yah that’s been keeping me up as well. fortunately both wife and i have and will probably keep our jobs for the next few months (she has a lot more job security since she’s smarter and harder working so she probably has hers as long as she wants). Being leveraged up in real estate, I was doing math on how much of a bath I can take in terms of rent decline / loss and still be ok. Having a W2 job right now helps and being dual income is even better.

C’mon, this is not a terminal illness and most will recover. Why are we talking as if it is?

The good news is i finally have a bunch of tenants I like and won’t mind giving them free rent for a couple of months. I know they will never be able to pay it back. Do you think Newsom will?

It’s not terminal for 99% but 250,000 could die.
Not yet determinate.
