the only way to verify china’s news is hanera take a plane trip to wuhan wihtout masks, go all over the place talk to the people, if survive and able to come back in 2 months, i think it works, if died. too bad. fake news
Sucks to work at a grocery store if you get a 4 month handout as a restaurant worker.
“Why are these masks made of leather with a zipper?“
when are they supplying account to US ppl
I lose at least some of my sense of taste and smell every time I get sick with anything.
Number of coronavirus tests conducted
There is no good data source I could find on this - if you have any, please do send them my way. The best figures I could find indicate that California has conducted about 23,200 tests, New York has conducted 32,427 tests
NY has conducted 91000 tests(today’s #).
CA 28000 tests(yesterday’s #)…
If the premise is incorrect, hard to get to correct conclusion.
I posted the positive ratio yesterday. Out of the tests done in NY 27% came out positive. In CA that ratio is only 12%. We can’t just compare absolute test numbers. Unless NY government officials are 2x as skilled in identifying patients we have to assume NY is 2x behind CA in test coverage.
US curve showing early sign of flattening. Italy will zoom past China any day now. SG will catch up with Japan in a week
Death count in US still on a steep ramp. Doubling every 3 days. Will surpass China’s in a week. Italy decelerating.
I’m going by articles such as and like the one below(there have been plenty of articles toeing the same line, there have been a few toeing the opposite line recently, however they in my view have been written because there aren’t enough tests available in USA) . Maybe these articles are incorrect, I don’t know, since my domain is in tech and business.
Btw, I do hope my theory is incorrect, and CA curve is flattening.
Our testing is inadequate. I am not saying CA is testing enough. I am just pushing back against the notion that NY is doing a better job at testing. It’s not. It’s doing an even poorer job than CA.
What is also really needed is cheap and fast testing for anti-bodies. So you can determine who has already been exposed to and recovered from the virus so that they can get on with their lives
You may be right.
However, I saw an interview yesterday with the Chief Medical Officer of Harbor UCLA Medical Center. He says although LA has very few confirmed cases there are many more confirmed cases however LA does not have the ability to test them because there is very little testing available.
Today’s test number. Dropped a bit from yesterday. Not cool.
I think we need to push the positive rate to below 5% before we re-open.
Yea, LA dropped the ball big time. Bay Area is ahead of the curve, relatively speaking.
