Having dinner in Cupertino Village. The better restaurants still have a few table empty at peak time (not normal) and the average ones only have 1 or 2 tables with guests in them. People are freaked out

They all taste the same. All you need is a super duper rice cooker.

Just went to Ranch 99 to get some tofu and condiments. Passed by rice aisle - completely sold out. Cabbage sold out. Lady in front of me at the cashier bought 7-8 packages of dumplings.

Am I the only one here that doesn’t use a rice cooker? That’s pretty ironic. I use rice for lunches and reheat it. I purposely stop a little before it’s cooked all the way and add butter when cooking it. It makes it warm up much better and keeps it from drying out.

i think you are

One of my coworkers told me that’s how his family cooks rice in the south: add lots of butter in it. Get a Zojirushi, it’ll change your life:

Rice cooker has many settings for different kinds of rice, white, brown and sushi. Also can cook a little softer and a little harder.

Some news footage of the Mountain View Costco. A complete zoo!

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

I do above all the times with Dove soaps - have dozens of them  - Costco always sell in bulk. Do you guys use sanitizers?

Over the dinner, I told my wife that Covid-19 can be viewed as a severe seasonal flu :grinning: People are scared only because it is new, no vaccine, no cure. There is really no need to be too bother about it especially for those 18-49 years old living in advanced economy. It is well-documented that those who die of common flu are mostly 75+ years old or living in a nation with very bad healthcare infrastructure.

So the media is clearly overhyping the risk vs what medical professionals say.

They are paid indirectly to say so, create over hypes. Stock market makers used this reason to bring down low.

Now, they are convinced FED will reduce the rate by Mar 17-18th and bring up the market back.

Market will be pricing the new rate cut from tomorrow onwards !

Geez - The Bay Area is suppose to be where the educated live and I’m supposed to be in Hicks-ville. So why the BA panic? Is this sort of like the more educated believing vaccines cause autism?

Ivory isn’t pH “corrected” so it’s more alkaline. It’s my only soap. No funky perfumes in it either. The alkalinity is good for removing pitch, poison oak, any oily stuff.

“may be considerably less than 1%”

The same logic applies to influenza cases (minimally/asymptomatic). Perhaps they already accounted for this.

Those guys read that Bill Gates say Covid-19 is likely to last past Summer.

Btw, there are tons of hand sanitizers available in HMart, Austin.

That’s because Austin people are filthy. They don’t use sanitizers.
