Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 Covid-19

Second casualty. Also in Seattle.

Coronavirus bomb was released by a Damond Princess guy in Texas. As expected, tests are not conclusive. After two negative, third time is positive. This guy has already walked the earth inflected many. Thanks for the decision to bring back those cruise guys. And the comment that one won’t die from coronavirus.

Everyone piling on the CDC but what were they supposed to do? They guy tested negative twice.
And while I would have preferred treating the cruise ship folks abroad it now appears one would need to quarantine for weeks and weeks to achieve 100% certainty.

In Costco now, toilet paper/ bath issue out of stock. Paper towels are running out fast. Plenty of water - many shoppers buy many cartoons. Run out of rice and hand sanitizers. Stockpiling started in Austin.

Crowded at this time of the day.

Austin residents are behind of the curve!

Don’t understand why people need to stock bottled water(for people who don’t buy bottled water generally). It’s not an earthquake or Fire that water services will stop.

Another urban thing. People thinking tap water is dangerous to drink.

Live conference for Seattle area:

  1. 3 deaths locally
  2. Multiple causes tied to assisting living center in Kirkland
  3. Wash hands often
  4. Don’t touch your face
  5. No school closings
  6. Since no crisis is without opportunity, they’d are setting up temporary mobile housing for the homeless. Locations are TBD. It’ll be interesting how “temporary” they are.

Water in USA is HARD. Can’t drink directly from tap like Singapore.

I filter and boil water to make coffee and tea, occasionally drink them. My wife drinks boiled water.

My children doesn’t drink boiled water, prefer bottled water and other light soda because boiled water is fairly tasteless.

Are they all mainland Chinese over 70s? With pre-medical conditions? Intentionally hide their profile!

Local nursing home

In other words, they are sick and weak. Same kind of profile that can be killed by common flu.

So, why weren’t they taken out by influenza instead? That should give us an idea of what this really means. If the outbreak in this care home ends up with significantly higher rate of passing versus years prior, we will know that this is a big deal.

Don’t understand how do you come to this implied conclusion that they should be killed by influenza.

The point I’m making is that they were in the vulnerable category, but they aren’t regularly passing just because they are vulnerable. Hypothetically, if every year 4% of residents of nursing homes pass any increase/projection above this could indicate this is a big deal.

Later: They shouldn’t be. That isn’t my conclusion.

May be they are  Nobody care about this stats yet. A topic for PhD or enterprising journalist to uncover?

I’ve always used untreated tap water. Sometimes I let it sit for the chlorine to evaporate out, sometims not. It has been high in calcium carbonate wherever I’ve lived but that doesn’t bother me.
