Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 Covid-19

I think they can only get unemployment if the company fires them. It doesn’t pay if they quit.

We are still not through with processing the initial 12,100 tests :woman_facepalming:

Another 3,094 got through today with an additional 795 positives, going from 22.3% from yesterday’s batch to 25.7%:

As of 2 p.m. PDT on March 26, approximately 88,400 tests had been conducted in California. This includes the latest numbers California has received from commercial and private labs and the 22 state and county health labs that are currently testing. Commercial, provider and academic labs have increased testing capacity and are now reporting that data to the state. The biggest labs included in this count include Quest, LabCorp, Kaiser, University of California and Stanford.

At least 23,480 results have been received and another 65,000 are pending.

3,801 – Positive cases
78 – Deaths (including one non-California resident)

That’s my point. They’ll work hard to get fired.

They just need to say they are an essential service. That’s what my pool guy and all my other service people say. I doubt the police want to be bothered with this shit. I am a landlord, I am an essential service.

I had two neighbors provide an essential service today. They both brought us TP today. We all agree to share if we find some at the store.

Death count start spiking up

San Francisco Mayor London Breed on Friday announced that the city had secured 300 hotel rooms for the purpose of self-isolating people who have tested positive for COVID-19.

The city also will open a new shelter at its Moscone West convention facility. The 300 leased hotel rooms will be used to quarantine seniors, homeless people, first responders and health care workers who have tested positive for the coronavirus or under investigation for the illness and need to be isolated.

The city is also in the process of finalizing leases for an additional 3,000 hotel rooms next week, according to the office of the mayor. The new shelter at the Moscone West convention center will allow the city to house more vulnerable populations who are required to practice social distancing.

The shelter will allow the city to relocate some people from other shelters. Moscone West is typically used to house company conventions, such as the Worldwide Developers Conference where Apple has previously announced many of its iPhone and Mac products. “At a time when we’re encouraging everyone who can to stay home and stay six feet apart when they do go out, it’s important that our shelters and navigation centers also have the space to follow the public health requirements,” Breed said in a statement. — Salvador Rodroguez

You can also quit if you have a good reason and still get unemployment. My late wife was a prop (professional player for the casino). San Jose changed its rules at the time to make it more expensive for players, i won’t go into details, and at the same time the smoking rule went into effect, banning smoking in public places. As a result, more people were gone from the tables and she was playing shorthanded and couldn’t make any money.

She quit and filed for unemployment. The company appealed it. The hearing officer said she was eligible because the job had changed substancially.

Non food / grocery worker. No food. Create even bigger problem. Get ur guns ready

Well apparently in Redwood city the police are not only looking for it but charging it as a misdemeanor, not an infraction.
BTW - I visited the Safeway in Payson on the way home from Marana tonight. They have banned those re-useable cloth grocery bags. Not only won’t the checkers touch them but they don’t even want them in the store. Seems sensible. Those things have always been germ factories. I’ve also noticed that all beverages served whether takeout or not are coming with sealed plastic straws for extra protection.

Instacart is garbage. We took out a trial membership and they messed up all three of our orders. I kid you not 100% error rate. Complete garbage.

Stick with Weee and Whole Foods.

BTW at that Safeway everything I needed for the next week was there except butter. They were sold out. Well, almost…there are certain things that don’t sell out even during a zombie apocalypse. Fortunately the little store in Pine had plenty of butter so I think it was just a supply chain disruption for Safeway - people hoarding elsewhere so there was nothing to end up in Payson.

Meanwhile, at the mask factory…

Keep an eye on the second tier states: Michigan, Florida, Louisiana and yes, even Texas. They are at the bottom part of the hockey stick graph.

3rd day in a row we tested more than 100k people. We need many, many more. Keep 'em coming!
