Election Poll

I see lot hypes around Biden as usual

Here is lengthy post, how Trump managed jobless issues.

I thought the debate was too little too late. Trump does a lot better when he calms the f down and let’s the other guy speak. Biden had good points but lacks stage presence and is not particularly articulate. I turned it off after 30 minutes bc it was boring. No one will remember this one…it was all about the first debate.

Not really sure this year, it’s even more strange than 2016

What i notice, back in 2016, pretty much is all trump hater, maybe 1/15 are supporter in CA. This year i see more supporter, and also haters hate him even more.
Polling biden leads looks like even bigger than hillary. Last election maybe more undecided voters. But this election there’s more voters(but who they voting for really?)

I thought Trump was way more civil. I guess he gets antagonistic when he’s sick. I think this debate can only help Trump as his behavior last time was pathetic. Whether it’s enough to turn the tide, I don’t know. I honestly think most people have their minds made up. It’s not the issues, it’s the behavior.

Michigan is livid at their Democrat governor who Biden considered for his VP pick.

Is that why they tried to kidnap her and blowup a bridge?

Is she doing such a poor job ppl have to kidnap/kill her now?
that’s what media say when ppl trying to kill trump

Biden is currently +8 in Michigan’s polling averages. I’d be super surprised if Trump ends up carrying the state. Polls can easily be wrong by 3 or 4 points but I have never seen averages be wrong by 8.

If folks are factoring in an 8-point polling error what if the error happens in the other direction? Obama’s final polls in 2012 was less than a point ahead but ended up winning by 4. That’s what usually happens. Pollsters tend to overcorrect the last mistake and end up erring in the other direction.

I think there may still be the factor where people don’t want to admit publicly-even to polls-that they support Trump but will vote for him privately. Certainly that was a factor in the first election. Is it 4 points worth? dunno.

IMO, It was hard for Trump to win Hillary Clinton. Now, Biden it must be easier than Hillary.

However, entire news/media shows polls against Trump which is very common in US News/Media circle as they want to create controversial or sensational news (knowingly) to improve their circulation, but not bothered to provide correct news to people.

Unless Trump is really defeated in elections, after results, I do not believe in any of the polls.

This chart from NYT helps to visualize how polls erred in 2016 vs 2012. In 2012 polls underestimated Dems. In 2016 polls underestimated Reps. I think it’s more likely polls will underestimate Dems in 2020, although I have no way to quantify it. Pollsters have their reputations riding on this. They would look extra stupid if they made the same mistake twice in a row.

After that you sworn by the poll?

I agree news/media are fair representation.

If polls failed , they do dis-service ?

It’s possible a lot of people have unfriended you if you’ve been openly supporting him. The cancel culture is at an all-time high.

That is why we are on an anonymous forum. You can’t have any opinions on Facebook. It is for puppies and cat pictures. Even Nextdoor is fraught with anger and decisiveness. I mentioned the bear problem in Tahoe. I have been attacked by the BLM. Bear lives matter. The bear league president told me that bears are more important than people. After all they are here first? Who knew there were bear fascists in Tahoe.

a lot of ppl will not support Trump openly, afraid of being attack/fired and harass.
imagine if you work at twitter as a trump supporter, probably even afraid of wearing anything red or with american flag

Yeah NO KIDDING! I’m getting harassed by my own family just for not saying who I voted for last election nor who I’ll vote for this election. I made the decision never to tell anyone again who I support in presidential elections after my husband chewed me out for suggesting in 2016 that since I was living in California and my vote didn’t matter anyways, it was a great year to vote third party (Libertarian - Gary Johnson) and try to add some support for third party candidates. He just couldn’t deal. He seriously was thinking of divorcing because I didn’t support Clinton because he thinks the popular vote is important and that voting third party is irresponsible. I keep telling him I don’t care one bit about the popular vote–it’s not how the game’s played. But he would have none of it. This whole thing has gotten totally ridiculous.

At this point, I’m about ready to start quoting them laws on voter intimidation.

I voted for Gary too. I wonder what happened to him.
Unfortunately in Ca Biden Harris will win. Voting for Trump will just piss off your liberal friends… well at least you can get something out of it.

I think popular vote matters in this election, especially for Trump. The only way to get leftists to shut up is to win electoral college AND the popular vote. Part of the reason for the endless tantrums was due to Hillary having the popular vote last time. Get out and vote folks.
