Everything Prefab

So what you are saying is most of the constructions already happen “prefab”.

My modest proposal is to build mid rise 8 story condos and apartments building along transit corridors from SF to SJ.
Say 2 blocks on either side of El Camino.
Infill houses on tear downs doesn’t add any new houses. Just makes bigger more expensive houses.

Those buildings can be prefab too. But land and zoning are the issues not construction technology

Layang Layang is decent. Don’t care for Mango Garden

Wait, isn’t Mango Garden gone now for awhile? Their San Mateo location closed awhile ago and I had heard/read about some issues with ee pay or something.

We used to go down that way for some Layang Layang. Not too bad…

layang layang in cupertino is closed for remodeling for over a year now. Heard they are having permit issues :frowning: The one in Milpitas is still open. Haven’t been to Mango Garden in 3-4 years…

In April, two owners and a manager of a chain of Malaysian restaurants in Northern California were charged with fraud and labor exploitation, involving wage theft, workers’ compensation violations, and human trafficking. Prosecutors accused them of cheating at the Mango Garden restaurants in “every way they could find” and grossly mistreating their employees along the way.

“A new startup, called Dweller, designs and builds affordable ADUs in Portland, Oregon that can be used for this purpose. Homeowners who live in the city can buy a turnkey home for $125,000, or they can rent one for about $1,200 to $1,500 per month.”

These are the size of hotel rooms. The city of San Francisco rejected them … of course.

I heard they are free for little people. Will be called “stay free mini pads”…:sunglasses:

Student housing has no debt control

“Berkeleyside reports that a 22-unit housing complex at 2711 Shattuck went up at a rate of one story per day in July and will soon lease to UC Berkeley to use as student housing”
