Gun Control

So now you’re arguing we should restrict guns to lower suicides or just change how people commit suicide?

Um, I am not arguing anything…I am just tired of more innocent YOUNG lives being cut down by a guy wielding a gun. Is that ok?

You’re pivoting all over the place and seem incapable of differentiating between a homicide and suicide.

Oh, I can tell the difference all right… 12 people just got murdered and I coward takes his own pathetic life after committing multiple homicides

Hey Mr. Seattle,

Next time you are about to hit the operating room, why don’t you wear that NRA t-shirt so proudly…

So you’re just going to run in circles, change what you claim is important, pivot a bunch of times, and not make a point. Cool. All I can figure is you’re into making people scared of guns even if the facts don’t support that.

The story I posted just illustrates the typical smug attitude exhibited by pro gun nuts. Now telling doctors to “stay in their lane”… wow.

I won’t be having kids, Mr. Seattle, but you may. I just don’t want you or anyone have to go through such an ordeal. And, I truly mean it.

No one is arguing gun violence is good, so I’m not sure what your point is.

"The American College of Physicians (ACP) is a diverse community of internal medicine specialists and subspecialists united by a commitment to excellence. Vision: To be the recognized leader in quality patient care, advocacy, education and enhancing career satisfaction for internal medicine and its subspecialties."

Hmm, so where does gun control policy fall in their mission and vision statement? If anything, they should advocate for mental health treatment.

Garbage report if you actually read through it. Full of mischaracterizations and logical fallacies. Makes it sound like it’s all based on FBI data when the reality is that they browsed through a few reports and mangled the data to draw specious conclusions.

For the record, I’m pro-gun but don’t see why anyone needs an AR-15. The bar for background checks and registration needs to be raised. Even in California it’s easier than falling off a log.

Not only that but the US suicide rate remains one of the lowest in the industrialized world.

When was the last time you bought a gun in CA?

In the last 2 yrs

And what did it entail?

~2 wk cooling off period and pass a multiple choice test:

Which of the following is a safe place to store your firearm:
a) in a locked gun safe
b) under your pillow
c) in your underwear drawer
d) loaded in your toddler’s crib

And passing the NICS (National Instant Background Check). And if a handgun purchasing a trigger lock or providing proof of ownership of a safe (long guns too at this point I think). And, for hanguns, a hands-on demonstration of knowledge of workings including how to safely load/unload etc.
Not at all like “falling off a log.”

If you’re so knowledgeable, why did you ask? Imagine that, requiring that someone purchasing a gun show that they know how to unload it. Let’s just say there was nothing particularly challenging or memorable about the process.

The answer is so obvious - B

How many shooting have happened this month in the US?

Today, 4 dead, a police officer among them.

Guns protect, don’t they?
