Any immediate benefit coming out of it instead of muddying the issue at hand.
I am all for a national apology from the Trump if that is a desired outcome of such discussions.

When did you know we have a pandemic? I knew back in late December. Everyone in China, Taiwan and HK knew by mid January.
Is CIA still functioning? Do they have anyone who reads Chinese? Well even English is fine as HK media already reported it widely by January. I find it highly unlikely American intelligence somehow missed something everybody in East Asia knew since early January.

Personally I don’t see anything wrong with the blame game. Agree that it’s not the top priority now under this crisis but there needs to be accountability at the end to set things right. If a drunkard ran someone over first thing you do is make sure the victim is okay then you go after the driver (if both can’t be done simultaneously).

Of course I know WHO is heavily influenced by Chinese money. I thought everybody knew?
We have CDC for a reason. We have never outsourced our public health policy to WHO. Heck, we even insisted on making our test kits and not use the WHO ones, which are used by over 60 countries. US has its first case in January. Do we need WHO to tell us whether it can be transmitted person to person?
What other policies are outsourced? Do we decide who to bomb or do we take orders from UN? Does the Fed set rates or is it the World Bank?
We have the world’s largest and most sophisticated intelligence network. We should have picked up an epidemic is going on in Wuhan earlier than it became public knowledge. And I bet we did pick that up. But higher up officials chose to ignore it. Do I have to replay all those Trump tweets saying it’s just a flu? There are still people on here insisting it’s just a flu.
Talk vs action. Look at what our gov did vs what they say. Compare to other countries we did a lot in short period of time. Could we do more. Absolutely especially cdc failed part. If we did more in early stage will our gov get f at . Absolutely will too
