South Korea donated millions of mask and gown to china try to lick some china ball. And when they needed it china will not sell them back. Didn’t you read the news? And their gov got fucked at big time by the people
They act after massive escalated infection.
This is not a true statement. Drugs are taken by Trumpers and nonTrumpers alike. Flu shots are given every year before seasons. Non-Trumpers take the flu shots too. Also, the virus strains change rapidly, so not all strains can be predicted and people still fall sick.
There is no basis for this statement. I believe FDA has approved chloroquine for compassionate use treating COVID-19. Full approval is pending some studies. People can take chloroquine on a compassionate basis.
If you think you are going to die you will try anything. But this drug has no proven efficacy and a lot of nasty side effects.
antacid or Kaopectate (kaolin-pectin) within 4 hours before or after you take chloroquine. Some antacids can make it harder for your body to absorb chloroquine.
If you also take an antibiotic called ampicillin, avoid taking it within 2 hours before or 2 hours after you take chloroquine. Chloroquine can make ampicillin much less effective when taken at the same time.
This medication may cause blurred vision and may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert and able to see clearly.
Chloroquine side effects
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction (hives, difficult breathing, swelling in your face or throat) or a severe skin reaction (fever, sore throat, burning in your eyes, skin pain, red or purple skin rash that spreads and causes blistering and peeling).
Taking chloroquine long-term or at high doses may cause irreversible damage to the retina of your eye. Stop taking chloroquine and call your doctor at once if you have trouble focusing, if you see light streaks or flashes in your vision, or if you notice any swelling or color changes in your eyes.
Call your doctor at once if you have:
vision problems, trouble reading or seeing objects, hazy vision;
fast or pounding heartbeats, fluttering in your chest, shortness of breath, and sudden dizziness (like you might pass out);
severe muscle weakness, loss of coordination, underactive reflexes;
You are really clutching straws here. These statements have been around since 1953. People take chlorquine still. You are welcome to not take if you fear.
The people clutching at straws are the ones that believe in it. Like Laetrile for a cancer cure.
Laetrile (amygdalin) is a highly controversial alternative cancer treatment. It is banned in many states by the FDA because it is ineffective at treating cancer and may cause cyanide poisoning. Laetrile comes with very serious health risks that may potentially lead to death.Dec 23, 2017
This is the kind of stupidity we have to deal with you in thread after thread. Do you believe in peer-reviewed science or not? Do you understand what that means?
If you are saying that times are desperate and people should be able to try a long shot, that’s one thing. But stop acting like this is going to solve our problems. There are just as many “anecdotes” out of Italy that chloroquine does nothing for Coronavirus victims.
Well I can agree with that. I also question everything. Which ironically enough is the whole point of peer-reviewed science. Someone puts out a theory and others try to poke holes in it.
Scientists are going to try chloraquine, azithromycin, and a lot of other combos. We need to let them do their jobs instead of acting like the VC blowhards that read a tweet and then proclaim that the answer is staring us in the face.
From what I gather, you are in tech the same as I. You and I don’t know squat about this world other than the “scraps” we read in our publications of choice. Let’s not jump to conclusions.
So Michigan’s entire healthcare system collapsed due to 800 extra patients? It must have been on the brink of collapse a long time ago.
This would be way more efficient if we designated specific facilities for testing and treatment. Then only the people dealing with those patients would need masks. Since patients are going everywhere, everyone needs masks. People are also clearly ignoring the order to not go to the ER if you have symptoms. Going to the ER is just going to spread it worse.
“I can’t give you a rough number,” he said in another interview on CNN, adding that governors should not depend on federal disbursements and should try on their own to obtain masks and other equipment.
“If you find it on the market, go ahead and buy it. FEMA will reimburse you for it,” he said. “This is a shared responsibility.”
Several governors pushed back, warning that pitting states against one another, the federal government, and other countries in a bidding war on the private market is no way to respond to a pandemic that requires a coordinated national response to obtain and allocate emergency goods.
The whole Trump should order things is interesting. Do people think hospital just haven’t ordered more? The manufacturers have boxes and boxes of them waiting, but they won’t ship if the hospital orders. They’ll only ship them if Trump orders them. Do people not realize what a supply shortage is? It doesn’t matter who orders them. There aren’t any.
The one move is to increase capacity. The government is working to increase capacity, but that will take months. The quickest move is to increase shifts at existing manufacturers and work weekends. You can safely bet they are doing that to make more money. Adding new manufacturers isn’t happening anytime soon. It’ll be months.
