Impact of election on market

That’s also the view of 55% of American adults. Support has dropped since June, maybe because of protest fatigue and some violence in protests. But it’s still a lot higher than 43% in 2016.

VERY useful chart. Thanks! Confirms that the longer and more disruptive the events are, the less people want to support them.

I think the good news though, is that overall people really do believe in supporting the Black community in having fair and safe policing. I think that’s shown by the initial response. The downhill is realizing that the BLM movement isn’t as peaceful a movement as they want to support.

Also interesting that 13% of blacks don’t support BLM even as a general movement. Would be curious to hear what those people would want to see change with the movement. I can’t imagine any black person disagrees with fair and safe policing.

Well, there are actually more Black people supporting it in Sep compared to Jun. Although that 1 point difference could be just noise. The share of Whites’ support dropped the most. But if you look at the political leans it shouldn’t come as a surprise. Support among Dems only down 4 points, and still hovers around 90 points; but among Reps it dropped from 37 to 16 points, an almost 60% drop.

Here’s the same survey from 2016:

Out of curiosity, how did Antifa get associated with BLM in the first place?

They broke their zero streak:

I don’t really see how comparing one organization to all right-wing violence makes much sense though.

Just like the peaceful protests of MLK were perverted into violence the current BLM have become violent thugs. The riots then and now by the left are vast and insidious. I remember all the anti 1percenter riots under Obama.

Never heard of a current conservative riot.
The riots today are encouraged by CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, Democrats, the looney left progressives, Liberal guilt and just purely opportunistic looters.

So it’s Trumps fault?

Have we completely forgotten about the history of the radical right in the US?

Your scientific spirit is extraordinary. Now what is wrong with patriot movement?
Added after a data-driven update to previous post: So your are using scientific spirit to link Oklahoma and patriots?

Yes, and most adults believe “hands up don’t shoot”. That doesn’t make it right. Most Americans have no clue what the actual facts about the cases are. All you’re doing is proving how uninformed the average American is and how much left-wing bias the media has. You can call it a couple conspiracy theory, but the fact is a majority of Americans have very basic and verifiable facts wrong. There’s a reason the public is so uniformed.

You’re also saying rioting and looting is fine, since people agree with the cause. Does that mean if most people think someone should die, then we can kill them?

The radical right are lone wolf wack jobs.
The radical left has infiltrated our schools and Democratic cities since the 60s. Their liberal guilt and race baiting has created two Americas and could lead to a total breakdown of society.

Every time a black person is killed the liberal Mayors beg for forgiveness. Sorry, I don’t feel their guilt. And all the immigrants on this forum should have no guilt or shame for slavery, Jim Crow. Or anything else that happened in the distant past

The election of Trump shows there are more of them out there than meets the eye. Patriot Prayer, the Oathkeepers, the Boogaloos. I go back to the Republican primaries in 2016 – there were plenty of reasonable candidates: Cruz, Rubio, Kasich. But the primary went to Trump. It was the equivalent of the dems choosing Bernie or AOC. Civil war ensues…predictable.

Only the left has declared war. And was also during the Obama administration. And of course they only trash their own neighborhoods, being the stupid idiots they are. The left calls all white Republicans racist, so naturally a slob that doesn’t give a crap what they say won.

Totally agree. I’m not sure what the difference is between the Oklahoma bombing and any other school shooting. I’m not sure why they get labeled “radical right”. Can someone explain? As far as I can see, they’re just “radical.”

Really? When did I say that?

Liberals looking the other way because of their guilt encourage left extremists. The mayors won’t do anything to save their good law abiding citizens. Courts won’t prosecute looters rioters and theives. Then vigilantes show up and they are called racist.
Sorry if the silent majority don’t believe you or BLM

You need to tell what wrong these groups did.

Maybe time to pay more attention to the senate races. GOP not looking good at the moment.

The link in the guardian article is incomplete and doesn’t support the thesis. And then there’s this - “…and in particular to allow analysis of how the current right-wing threat compares to the last major wave of right-wing violence in the 1990s.” So the study referenced wasn’t even designed to look at left wing violence.

Not only that but it was Clinton and Reno’s actions at Waco which ultimately led to Oklahoma City.
