And regardless how well engineered German Cars are, they do not stand anywhere near Japanese cars in terms of reliability and cost of ownership. So, engineering is very subjective if you consider what is the engineering goal. Keep the cost low, or keep the tolerances low, or something else.

i know but Germany and areas between Germany/Russia have the highest contribution to modern engineering and science. i would say almost 90%. Germany and Russia were colliding for centuries that created instability. that benefited British Empire and than US as best and brightest immigrated from those regions.

US thinks that if adopts Europe Climate and digital tax agenda. Europe will help against China. Europe is so hooked on Chinese goods and cargo trains that it is not possible.
While this is being presented as a victory for the Biden administration Biden’s proposed corporate tax rate is nearly double the proposed minimum.
The USA is just a colony of global left. Think of global left as a borderless entity comprising of people from different regions of the world. GL (global left) uses the USA as a platform and tool to accomplish their goals. Do you think Biden, who could not get 5 people to come to his meeting can organize international events of this scale and build consensus ? If the tax rate in USA is 30 and 15 in other countries, where will the corporations move to?
The bigger problem is how Biden finances his 6 trillion dollar budgets. No alternative but to soak the middle class. The rich can point and click their assets around; corporations can re-locate but the middle class can be held hostage. And it will be. Raising corporate taxes is just a way to make that more psychologically palatable. And of course those corporate tax increases come at the expense of the dividends a lot of retirees survive on.
Ireland had a rate of 12.5%. Now they have to be 15%. Of course, how profits are defined and what is subject to tax credits or deductions is still up to countries. It’s a bunch of hype about nothing. It’s as useless as the Paris climate agreement.
US created most megacap firms after 2010 and most likely they will face more tax burden through various subsidiaries in each country. as EU started this by revenue ranking process. so even if cost are shifted to one jurisdication for greater deduction. the revenue criteria will still be there.
