The number of sexual assaults reported by California colleges for 2013 varied widely.
California State University, Fullerton, reported zero sexual assaults on or near campus between 2011 and 2013. About 38,000 students attend CSU Fullerton.
By comparison, Stanford University reported 53 sexual assaults during the same period. It has less than half the students as CSU Fullerton.
The number of assaults reported at UC campuses in 2013 ranged from three at UC Merced, a relatively small campus, to 37 at UCLA. UC Davis reported 24 sex offenses, up from 18 in 2012. UC Berkeley reported 33, up from 23.
So it seems Stanford had more sexual assaults than Berkeley. Is it famous? Also @sfdragonboy UCLA did indeed have more bad hombres.
I imagine a lot of crime is not being reported, especially the less serious you go…
Yeah, Stanford is pretty safe but like any nice place that exude wealth bad hombres like to come in and try to make a score. Come on, can’t imagine much to steal in Hunter’s Point (unless you are stupid and/or desperate) relatively speaking of course…
Unfortunately, there will always be rapes on campuses… people with raging hormones, increased access to alcohol, no parents, etc. It’s not an excuse, it’s just the formula for a bad time.
Not to beat a dead horse, but do you mind sharing what goals you would like to see from the administration? I assume one goal is economic prosperity for the US… anything else?
I just want us to be not pushed around in the world any more. I want countries like North Korea and Iran to think twice before mouthing off as to what they plan to do to us. I want people that should not be in this country (illegals) removed from this country. Is that enough?
Lower tax rates even if it comes with less deductions (much lower corporate tax rates so we’re a leader there
We stop apolgozing for the success of our country and realize we need to compete to win
We stop letting the tyranny of small groups rule the majority. People talk about wanting a true democracy. Guess what, that means a majority rules. Protesting and special interest BS shouldn’t hold the majority hostage. I’d use the NC bathroom law as an example. 0.7% of the population identifies as some type of transgender. Now the 99% majority have to accommodate them in bathrooms, since we’re too afraid of offending people. I’d say having the mothers of the movement onstage at DNC is another. We gave publicity and validation to people inciting riots and protests when cops were found innocent of wrong doing. That should never happen. We should be honoring families of officers killed on duty. I’m sick and tired of the rich being blamed for poverty in America when the #1 cause of poverty is having kids out of wedlock. I’d love to see the logic blaming rich for poor people having kids out of wedlock. It’s time we get real about problems and introduce personal accountability.
You’re expecting them to blame themselves for irresponsible behavior? Having too many kids have been the cause of poverty since mankind history… not just family, also nations.
But the rule of law is all about protecting the minority, the weak and the less powerful. I don’t want the majority to vote my rights away. There is a fine balance there.
BERKELEY, Calif. — Fires burned in the cradle of free speech. Furious at a lecture organized on campus, demonstrators wearing ninja-like outfits smashed windows, threw rocks at the police and stormed a building. The speech? The university called it off.
There’s a difference in protecting against discrimination and demanding equal outcomes. We’ve gone past protecting against discrimination. Now we are trying to force equal outcomes.
Thanks for the response. I don’t agree with you that we were “pushed around” at all. Position of strength, you don’t think twice about NK or Iran because you know you can destroy them in a blink of an eye. Only insecure people worry that NK is trash talking us. Obama is like the handsome smart quarterback who was always popular. Nice to the little guys. Trump is like the scrawny guy who got picked on as a kit but grew up big. Just a bully now.
I generally agree we should stop illegal immigration, but in an economical manner (i.e. no wall). Obama gave us the most deportations in American history, and without creating a constitutional crisis. We will see what Trump achieves.
