Obama sucked for the middle class and poor. To argue differently is to ignore the record numbers on food stamps, record number on disability, and multi-decade low in labor participation rate. You can also look at the stagnant real incomes too.
Most people here are happy with him because your real estate investments went up a ton and the stock market is up even more. That doesn’t help most of the middle class who lives where real estate hasn’t performed as well as the Bay Area. The stock market helps even fewer people given how little savings and investment the average family has. When you say how great Obama was economically, you’re either completely unaware of how most of the country is worse off, or you only care about yourself.
When Obama took over in 2009, the country had gone to hell in a handbasket. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were going broke, the banking industry was in shambles, the auto industry was going bankrupt. He got all these back on track saving millions of jobs, and you say he’s done nothing for the middle class and poor? You need a history lesson.

It is a historic moment and America selected an unconventional president. Unconventional just means unconventional, maybe our country need to right the ship and turn a little from far left to the center.
No need to jump to conclusion. You will have your chance in 4 year and 8 years. Change could be painful, no pain, no gain.
Calm down and be cool. Do not protest violently, do not use hatred, do not use violence. Feel free to speak up and debate, but make sure that you allow other people to speak up as well.

Immigration policy adjustment is just a policy adjustment. Do not feel that immigration privilege is a human right. No one has an inherent right to enter another country.
Only citizens has a right to be protected by American laws. Foreigners are citizens of another country, their country will protect them and your country will protect you. Leftist’s dream is an open border for illegal immigrants, but prohibit H1B work visa.
Leftists always welcome illegal immigration and put legal immigrants and legal non-immigrant workers in tough regulations. Many illegal immigrants hate H1B workers.
I do not like different rules for different people. If we have a law, we should follow. If the law is bad, still follow the law but find a better alternative law.
We should have the law and order. With law and order, the country will become a relic. Illegal immigration is the #1 criminal activity in this country in terms of number of violations. Sanctuary city is violating the federal law and harbor millions of criminals who broke the law to cross the border. No execuses, period.

I asked because you seem to be wailing against Chinese the race here in US. If they are already American citizens and abusing the system in your eyes, what’s your solution? Ban Chinese people from immigrating here, because they are cunning and always game the system? So better stop them from becoming citizens?

I have not seen much self-reflection from Latinos on illegal immigration. Asians are good at self criticism, hopefully that’s going to make Asians better.
There are abuses of the system from all races. No need to focus on your own race.
I would agree that my wife tells me this stuff all the time. She hates the ones from mainland China. They have no manners, are always pushy, etc etc etc. Now, to be fair, is it more of just an assimilation thing? Unfortunately, no one taught them the right way so they don’t know any better. I would like to think their kids (born here or coming over at a very young age) are not as bad and then their offspring pretty much are all ok and americanized.

BTW that’s why I am so bullish on US. Our melting pot is steaming and works great! Unlike the weak sauce ones in Europe where people just segregate into their own caves and don’t hear from and speak to each other. Here we become one people.
I take the super long view on (legal) immigration. It’s my Chinese-ness sneaking out. Many first gens are great out of the gate. Let’s face it. They typically came here for colleges and grad schools, highly educated and making big bucks. So they are model citizens out of the gate. Some first gens are not that great, sure, I will grant you that. But give them some time and even some help because their kids and grandkids will be.
My observation is that immigrants tend to be more enterprising. They are more likely to take risks, like buying houses and starting businesses. You can even frame the misbehavior @dioworld quoted in that light. These people push the boundaries, though not in a good way sometimes.
Compared to 54 million Latinos and 11 million currently illegal immigrants, Asian as a group does not use much welfare. That’s why there is such a strong dislike from its own race.
We do not hear much from other minority groups complaining about themselves.
On the contrary, I hear illegal immigrants requesting stopping H1B program so that their children can work in GOOG/AAPL/FB.
As a group, Asians are aiming to discipline against each other. I do not even see that within Jewish community.

With their superior numbers, they easily recaptured China from the corrupted and un-united Nationalists.
Nationalists are founded by the Southern Chinese, mainly from Guangdong and Fujian. They were chased by the Communists to Taiwan, and many fled to Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Europe and USA. Notice most of them speak Cantonese (Mother tongue of Guangdong) or Hokkien (mother tongue of Fujian).
The current group of Chinese that went all over the world, investing in RE and settling down, are mostly from other Provinces, of course some from Guangdong and Fujian, actually I heard many of the cities of those two Provinces are dominated by Northern Chinese.
So you see, they don’t speak the same dialect, don’t eat the same kind of food, slightly different culture… do sfdragonfly and his wife know how to speak Mandarin? Mark Zuckerberg’s wife can’t speak Mandarin, she speaks Cantonese.
