So apparently a friend of mine missed Jury Duty and got a nasty message saying how she could be put in jail for it. Think about that.
Some day, the only people left in jail could be the ones who missed jury duty while men are allowed to freely stalk and molest women, anyone can do drugs on the street, breaking and entering is perfectly fine, bike theft rings abound, and violent criminals are allowed to go free and kill women in Las Vegas…
This would make a great short story that kids have to read in English class…

Police showed up in 2015 to arrest my brother for failing to appear for jury duty. He died in 2014 (Santa Clara Co.).

Considering how much crime there is already out in the open (or, thugs driving around the city looking for an opportunity), I want the SF police dept to return to the good old days of WALKING YOUR DESIGNATED BEATS!!! The police are simply now LAZY and are not up to snuff anyway. Yes, the job is dangerous but we want the best men and women who want to do a good job and we should pay them handsomely so that we can fill the police ranks. I don’t want cops playing traffic cops!!! That, is not what my freaking high property taxes should be paying for…

The city isn’t willing to do the hard choices. Arrest the criminals. Force drug addicts and crazies into rehab or institutions. Give housing assistance only if the homeless are willing to move to less expensive cities. Make arrests for illegal camping begging and vagrancy. New affordable housing is ineffective inefficient and will not solve the problem
