@manch is living under a well.
Obviously do your due diligence on that but if you are literally beach front, there is very little chance of someone blocking you. Ok, so you rent then. A place like this is probably around $2-3K/month at most. Something happens, you leave scot free…
Ok, I know enough rich people to know that they can be dirt cheap or they loooooove a great deal. A vacation home in Penang would be cheap and a nice get away when you want it. Everyone loves great, cheap food for very little money. To be quite honest, I am surprised that Penang is not overran with Chinese as of now. I do believe the pandemic years with the lockouts and higher MM2H requirements are helping me by keeping the Chinese out for a brief period at least which is all I need.
Come on, Communist Hong Kong and Miami??? Two words: fake list!!!
You need to learn from Jeff Bezos… stop living like a monk or a hermit, start enjoying life.
The Shanghai that shut down for two months during Covid? I heard most foreigners are gone and many high end businesses are struggling there.
Hong Kong is dead. The commies kill it.
London that doesn’t even air conditioning? C’mon now.
You better hire an army of private security guards if you plan to stay in Sao Paulo.
Miami is a swamp and Dubai is a freaking oven.
This looks not bad. All the Hainan Chicken Rice I have tried in CA sucks. Maybe I need to make a pilgrimage to SG to taste the good ones.
So when you went to Penang before you didn’t hit up Singapore? I assume you flew out of Changhi no?
No. Just went to Penang.
Go eat some chicken rice in SG for me. Tell me where the good ones are.
BTW your wife know any good ones here in the Bay? The ones I had are pretty weak sauce.
Tickets of Taylor Swift concert SOLD OUT.
Swift will perform at the city state’s National Stadium next March. With other regional hubs like Bangkok, Manila and Jakarta having seemingly missed out on the chance to host the singer, demand for tickets to one of her six nights in Singapore has been skyrocketing.
Taylor Swift Adds to Singapore Concert Frenzy With More Shows
“Many of these concerts sell out within hours of tickets going on sale and this … signals to the world that Singapore is the leading destination in Asia for live events.”
Only in Singapore
“Malaysia might have hosted some of the best events and concerts but that is no longer the case today. This is not how countries should market themselves.”
Malaysia
Outside Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, often seen as a rival to Singapore, has also been debating why it might have lost out.
Hong Kong
Uh, the reason why her tickets sell out in Singapore is probably partially due to the fact THAT THERE IS NOTHING ELSE TO DO IN SINGAPORE!!!
I see you didn’t read the article.
I always wonder how come Singapore has zero culture export. Like Japanese movies and music were very popular in the 80s and 90s. Hong Kong had a lot of movie, tv shows and music export before the Chinese commies killed it. Taiwan has lots of good music and of course now it’s Korea that conquers the world. It’s freaking amazing K-pop is popular all over the world.
But nothing ever comes out of Singapore. I guess Singaporeans just aren’t that creative?
Your description of the entertainment industry is the reason. Success is transitory
America is the undisputed king in entertainment since Chaplin’s time. That’s been 100 years. Still going strong.
Singapore never had its time. Makes you wonder why.
From Asia to America? Since you insist on the real reason, would you be happy if your daughters want to be in the entertainment industry?
So you mean in other Asian countries like Japan and Korea the kids can choose freely what they want to do for their life, but not in Singapore?
That explains it. Probably the Singapore kids just want to get a stable government job.
Answer the question.
Of course I would be happy. I will tell them it’s a lot of luck and hard work to make it in entertainment because competition is intense. But if they still choose that path that means they have the passion for it. Why not?
Ever wonder why Singapore is so much unlike its fellow Asian countries in this regard?
