Tesla’s trillion dollar valuation is fast approaching

https://www.cnn.com/2020/02/07/investing/tesla-stock-bubble/index.html

One exception: the infamous rise of Yahoo and Cisco (CSCO) during the dotcom bubble. Bespoke found that those tech stocks hit the 2,000% mark much faster than Tesla.

Well, wait for “Google”.

Correct.

Theory is not bad, but good for long term growth.

  • When you buy a call or put for $1000, you can easily decide, take the action right away. Simple math will do.

  • When you buy a call or put for $100000, you can not easily decide, you will think 10 times (mind analyses more) before you take action. At this stage, you will think what is the best expiry and what is the best strike which will give max return !

Theory is the base for all practical purposes. As you grow ( and when you need more assurances/re-assurances), you need to go for higher math/analysis.

You move from OTM calls (risky) to ITM (safer) as $ invested capital increases.

Not really.

Aim is to get max return, but must get assurances, more guarantee to win by more analysis. In short, I should not fail in my attempt and try to win 80% of time or more. If I get more confidence and assurances, I can increase the capital.

When TEVA went down to $6.13, I purchased 5 times of what I hold now. The simple reason is that TEVA is too low at $6.13.

Rookie thinking

Have your cake and eat it too :scream:

The common concept is risk-adjusted return which mean not trying to max return which is to take max risk. So many hedge funds tend to lag the index during a bull market but ahead of the index during the bear market.

When I bought Tesla for $180 in June people said it could go down to $100. Totally crap shoot. All depends on the crap coming out of Musks mouth.

Ah ha, what made you buy TSLA? I remember you were asking question when it came $180. Too good for you ! I really missed $180 price. This is hold for life term price !

I sold at $240. Just play money. Buy sell/ stock. To me it still is. But it looks like the goal posts changed.

According to your favorite professor, TSLA is worth $427 using a DCF approach. If you believe in him, any price above $427 is due to short squeeze.

His valuation is too conservative like buffet’s deal. If someone (like WQJ) got it less than this $427, it is too good to hold.

It is not only Aswath Damodharan is good, there is another professor Stephen Penman, he is also good on valuation.

They both are almost same, but Stephen teaches and publishes books, but Aswath Damodharan publishes multiple company valuations, practically revising time to time, and people follow his blogs to know (easy reference) about company details, like AAPL, AMZN, TSLA, LYFT and some IPO valuations.

Elon Musk teases Giga Texas facility, changes Twitter bio location to Austin

Hutto was considered before Nevada was chosen. If Elon wants to revisit this option, @Boolean and me would be laughing to the bank since we have rentals in Pflugerville which is a breeze from there.

Why does Tesla need another factory? It only built out a small percent of the Giga factory.

When google reported exceptional results, market reacted negatively, that gave me 100% assurance that it was mis-priced. Here you go Google 1550 call.

I had more calls, but sold some of them today.

Is Cocaine, be careful. One wrong bet can wipe off 10 good gains.
I have learned to focus, my number of stocks have been decreasing, now less than a handful, easier to manage. I realize in the long run, it doesn’t matter whether you have selected the best few or middle few, speed is of the essence. Too many hard to achieve speed.
