Tesla’s trillion dollar valuation is fast approaching

The best are in California. If they are not in CA they are not the best.

Kudos, Kudos, Kudos !!!

Clueless.

I was just saying he is not comparing Apple vs Apple. Bad comparison to just use final stage only. Nothing to do with Apple. Stop pivoting. Focus on the comparison. I am not even comparing ICE vs EV. I am saying his comparison is not correct.

Sour grape :smiling_imp:

You know the answer perfectly well.

Don’t be an old man fighting against the tide. Ride the tide instead. Be water, as Bruce Lee used to say.

Stop pivoting. I am not fighting against the tide. I am saying his comparison is WRONG. I am not comparing ICE vs EV. I am not saying EV is not the future. Get it?

as a response to…

is :-1: I don’t expect CS major like you would agree with above comparison. It seems many CS majors agree with that comparison. I am having great doubts in American college education :smiling_imp: You need cradle to grave analysis :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: You can’t selectively choose a stage of the supply chain to compare and conclude one use less energy than the other.

Huh, “well to wheel” is more efficient and less polluting with EVs even when using the same polluted energy sources.

And of course when the energy sources are cleaner, EVs get better.

Oil takes plenty of energy to process.

Is your point that you think solar panels require more energy to make and install than oil refining?

Talking to me? No I didn’t say that. I am only referring to his response is incorrect, incorrect may be too strong, is incomplete/ insufficient. I am not arguing for or against your opinion (ie. is not factual because no quantitative analysis), or commenting about EV vs ICE or challenging the efficiency of EV or … I am commenting on his statement as a supporting evidence to your opinion is insufficient. That is, I am assuming the figures in his statement is correct.

While US still do not have AV, China already has flying taxi.

“Our electric strategy is very specific. We’re going to invest in segments where we’re the dominant player and we have scale, like the F-150, the Transit van, our Mustang.”

Heads-on competition with TSLA? TSLA is challenging F-150 and Mustang right? And if the rumor is true, Apple Car would be competing with Ford Transit?

Talk paused.

Ford has no tech lead.

They are going to get curb stomped

Great quote from Jobs:

Why does the iPod exist? Why is Apple successful in this business? It would be because the Japanese consumer electronics companies, who are the preeminent hardware makers of consumer electronics until recently, couldn’t do software as well as needed to be done. If you look at handsets, it looks very similar.

Steve Jobs regarding the forthcoming iPhone in 2007

It’s the software, stupid. And Jobs’ quote describes all car firms today with the lone exception of Tesla.

Software is very manpower intensive both onshore and offshore. Japan was not willing to de-industrialize at same scale as California or US.
now Europe and Asia make boat load of money from Apple and US consumers have to pay $1000 for phone with trade imbalance.
Japan was thrown out by Europe and its colloboration with Korea and China.
unlike Korea. Japan is getting more and more depended on Europe for chips.

Elon makes another record !

Chamath and him are following the millennials, are they millennials themselves?

Anyhoo, I don’t see many baby boomers buy TSLA, most baby boomers are fossilized in the 60s-70s.

In my gated community, I see baby boomers driving Porches and Ferraris while millennials drive Teslas. Family men like me drive Lexus/ Acura/ Honda/ Toyota.

As stock holder, do you think this is a good move?
