First the socialists wanted to force all to use public transportation.
Now they want everyone in EVs with FSD… my cold dead hands. ICE baby.
Fresh off the press. This last week’s car sales number in China. Tesla’s number came in 4th in the BEV+PHEV category. BYD is more than 6x Tesla.
Tesla seems to have a demand problem in China.
I believe the Model 3 production lines have been down.
I think you got confused here.
FSD is NOT mandated. It’s a feature that some car companies(both ICE and EVs) want to provide to customers to differentiate themselves and they hope this will give them a leg up compared to their competitors.
You’re right that New sales of EVs + PHEVs will be mandated in 2-3 out of 50 states in 13 years.
The start of a thousand cuts. I guarantee when FSD actually works people will not be allowed to drive themselves. Hopefully not for 100 years.
In my lifetime I have seen civil rights eroded at an alarming rate.
The nanny state has been taking away freedoms one at a time forever.
The worst is the taking away parental authority. Kids aren’t even allowed outside anymore without parental supervision.
The consequences are children and young adults that are incapable of taking care of themselves.
I had a friend that traveled by bus across country at 13 in the sixties by himself with his 11 year old brother.
Another road his motorcycle across country with a young friend at 16 in the sixties. Unheard of today. In fact a friend lost his parental rights when his son played hooky.
Freedom is more important that the woke bullshit of today.
Sorry but I remember a time where none of the following happened
We have lost the right to speak freely… lest we offend a woke person
We have to follow rules made up by idiots on what to say to our kids
We have to submit to airport searches, car searches, drunk driving check points.
Have to wear sea belts, helmets
Have to install multiple smoke detectors, co detectors
Have to restrict water use under vague drought regulations during record floods
Have to recycle even though it all ends up in the same dump.
Basically have to pretend that silly men wearing dresses are women or non binary.
Have to rent to anyone. Even if they had a felony
And can’t force out bad tenants.
Yes, too many people got confused and tried clinging on to a past that is inferior. I like things exactly the way they are today and would not wish to live at any point in the past. And I think the future will be even better and brighter. Can’t wait… ![]()
Too bad you don’t know any different. Freedom is more important than technology. Proof is in the pudding. People are miserable today. Teenagers are fat and depressed. Suicides are on the increase. The government telling us what to do makes people angry and miserable. Get rid of restrictions and mandates. Covid protocols proved to be counter productive. EV subsidies and extra gas taxes are unAmerican and counter productive. All they did is subsidize Tesla and rich consumers. The Trump movement is a reactionary response to government overreach over regulation and nasty woke politics.
Why do you even care? You don’t even have any children. Go spend some money and enjoy life rather than spitting negativity here. You can be a happier person ![]()
People with no credibility always resort to personal attacks
If the future is plugging your car into your dryer outlet for 11 hours because you can’t just swing by a gas station I think we may all live long enough to miss the past.
I think fully charging a EV could improve to just a few minutes in a few years due to technological improvement though…
When that happens will be believers
Maybe…but faster charging usually degrades battery life so it may be a case of replacing one problem with another. If we even get to just a few minutes to charge - which will likely involve whole new infrastructure and not just more advanced cars
Well if there are other problems arising from solving this one, then I’m sure there will be other solutions to those as well.
I did dig up that EV charging forecast from ARK…
Well we never got to the 2022 number. And depending on driving conditions ARK may not even be talking about an “honest” 200 miles. The 320 mile range Tesla is a 200 mile range car in much of Arizona.
Even if that’s true, you can still see drastic improvement based on that graph. I would not nitpick here.
Also, EV is just one of Tesla’s S-curves. Think about what will happen if some or all of those turns out to be true ![]()
Tesla just approached me for a job on LinkedIn. I applied for a real estate acquisition manager. It would be hilarious if they hired me. I just want to talk to Musk. Definitely the most fascinating man in America.
Good for you! Congrats! ![]()
Imagine if you had to take your cell phone to the gas station once a week. What a PIA. With an EV, every morning you wake up to a full 300 miles.
The quick refills on long driving days are the problem. And even that would be fine if there was better charging infrastructure. The issue with long distance travel is that there aren’t enough fast chargers, especially on more rural routes. You’re also always rolling the dice on whether or not they’ll be operational.
