The New "We Don't Care" Health Insurance Program

Obama was not given freehand and forced to raise income for medical insurance. He has added tax to wealthy people to fund medical insurance for others ! This has irked many esp top income earners.

What Trump has changed?

Trumpcare = Obamacare - minus following

  1. Cut the extra taxes on wealthy 250k income payers
  2. Remove mandatory enforcement of insurance from individual.

Essentially, he removed the income sources of medical insurance.

Now, we will all know whether Obamacare or Trumpcare is doomed to increase cost !

It’s all window dressing anyway. None of it will change why the US spends such a high percent of GDP on healthcare. The root of it is Americans are horribly unhealthy. It’s a sad state when doctors are shocked when new patients don’t have a long list of prescription drugs they are taking.

I get Canadian TV channels. They have the best coverage of hockey. There are zero drug commercials.

Yet the sport channel is very popular. Ironic?

California single-payer healthcare bill passes first committee test. It will cover all California residents, including illegal immigrants. Who will pay for it? Is california state tax going to go up again?

People just don’t realize the math. Countries with these benefits tax have an effective income tax rate of 40-50% plus VAT. America’s average effective tax rate is 13%. Even if you add FICA, we’re around 20%. We’d have to increase that by at least 2x to fund these socialist programs.

Ask the 42% of Americans not paying income taxes if they’d pay 50% to get “free” healthcare. They support it because they think someone else will pay the bill.

Stop complaining!

You wanted it, you got it! The death panels! Oh wait! That was Obama! Didn’t he?

Now, APPLY to the new Trumpcare, you get healthy, good! if you get sick, they don’t care!!! :stuck_out_tongue::stuck_out_tongue::stuck_out_tongue:

Did you pick white or pinkish? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Do you think posting that does anything to enhance the credibility of you or your position?

How about your credibility complaining about democrats, liberals, blah, blah, blah? I know, you are not biased, that’s what you said, but come on! Let’s go and denounce this will ya?

In 1973, Nixon did a personal favor for his friend and campaign financier, Edgar Kaiser, then president and chairman of Kaiser-Permanente. Nixon signed into law, the Health Maintenance Organization Act of 1973, in which medical insurance agencies, hospitals, clinics and even doctors, could begin functioning as for-profit business entities instead of the service organizations they were intended to be. And which insurance company got the first taste of federal subsidies to implement HMOA73 … gasp … why, it was Kaiser-Permanente! What are the odds? It’s all right here to read for yourself.

Health insurer profits are around 5%. If they were non-profit, premiums would drop by 5%. Premiums are increasing by more than 5% a year, so you wouldn’t even offset one year of increases. Congrats on falling for headlines designed to cause an emotional reaction, because you have on idea what the actual issues are.

Pssttt…comment on the retuglican Nixon will ya.

It’s not secret he was a horrible president. What’s your point? My point of your hypocrisy is that you get so angry when republicans do anything. It’s hilarious to see you pivot when it’s pointed out the democrats did the same thing you’re bitching about. You still don’t understand that I’m anti both parties and anti big government. Both parties are the enemy. You think the democrats care about you despite all the evidence to the contrary. You’re the exact type of voter the DNC said was the key to Hillary winning. You’re the person they can easily manipulate with headlines that make you react emotionally.

Yeah, I’ve read you so many times berating republicans, of course, soooooooooooo many times for you to be non biased, of coooooooooooourrrsssssssseeeeeeeee!

And, how many on this forum follow Warren Buffet? Plenty I can guess. And he is right! He must be another democrat, right?

Warren Buffett thinks that the US healthcare system is broken.

The legendary investor said costs for healthcare have exploded in the US and are holding back business growth.
“Medical costs are the tapeworm of American economic competitiveness,” Buffett said.

Buffett said that the lower rate of healthcare spending in other countries is one of the biggest disadvantages for US businesses.

Anyone can see healthcare spending has exploded. Has the growth of it slowed down since Obamacare? Did Obamacare save the average family $2,400/yr like he promised? How about we place the blame where it lies with the American people being so unhealthy?

Here, here! I hear you! Blame Nixon!

@buyinghouse What on earth does a HMO being able to have a profit have to do with Americans becoming more obese? Your article is so stupid it ignores the fact that medicare and medicaid reject a higher percent of claims than private insurers. Wow, I guess that destroys your entire narrative that health insurers are bad and government healthcare would save all of us. Let me guess. You’ll respond by posting a link to something irrelevant.

If you want to blame someone for the rise in obesity, then blame the MIT study funded by sugar lobbyists. It said saturated fats are the dietary evil and sugars are fine. It completely changed dietary recommendations, and the obesity rate has been increasing ever since. Now we know that data was garbage and gave people horrible advice.

Some data and facts on the topic (not someone’s hysterical opinion):

Huh? You are bringing anything to deflecting what’s in question here, your hero party destroyed the healthcare in this country.

Thanks to the media, the truth is being told

So I was right. You pivot to something unrelated to your original point of blaming Nixon. I guess you want government healthcare, so you have a higher percent chance of your claim being denied.

Again mister Marcus, are you hard of hearing? We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for a retuglican voting away healthcare for all. Or at least, not for profit healthcare.

The core of this topic is the crappy AHCA. It was one of the reasons for what some dumbsters voted for Twhitler.

I will repeal and replace Obamacare ASAP. It will be cheap for everybody. Everybody? LOL

Then the wall paid for by Mexico. Not even included in this budget. LOL…LOL…extra LOL!

Hillary in jail…

Playing golf, no way! I will be so busy in the white house. Can you believe Obama golfed so much but I won’t? :scream:

I will fight wall street. Goldman Sachs is getting away with murder folks! That’s why I will hire them, they know how to kill people…:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

So, Marcus, what part of AHCA you love the most? The $680K tax reduction for Warren Buffet against older people paying 100+ times for their coverage?

The 40 million Americans out of healthcare if they vote this law in?

I just want you saying “darn republicans!” once in your life.

Can you do that? I know you can, you are not biased, right? :stuck_out_tongue:

Who voted away healthcare for all? We’ve never had healthcare for all in the US, so it’s difficult to tell what you’re rambling about. Are you pivoting back to Nixon? So you’re going to cling to your story despite data that health insurers add 4% to the cost? You’re going to cling to the belief that government healthcare is superior even though it declines a higher percent of claims than private insurers? You’re going to cling to insurers are bad despite the increase in obesity coinciding with the increase in healthcare spending? That’s a special level of ignorance.

You realize I was against most of the house republican proposal for income tax reform. A border adjustment tax is stupid. Tariffs are stupid and should be a last resort. All they do is make items more expensive. Brazil has sky high tariffs and a mediocre standard of living.
