Officials from Los Angeles, San Francisco and Stockton wasted no time campaigning for a statewide tax increase. The Schools and Communities First campaign, led by labor and education groups, is pushing a November ballot measure to overhaul Proposition 13, California’s landmark property tax cap, to help prevent steeper cuts to local governments and public schools.
No you are smart. Boats are the worst investment anyone could possibly make. I should know I have bought and sold about 20 of them. I have owned a couple of bigger boats than this. And even though the gas cost is ridiculous the depreciation is worst.
With tax this boat cost $220k new. Now worth $120k. $100k spent on 200 hrs of use. That is $500/hr. Plus dock fees maintenance taxes fuel and insurance. Close to $800/hr. That is more expensive than a helicopter.
I remember hearing a long ago from my friends, if California were alone, it would be 7th or 8th largest economy of the world, or something like that. If California were truly let alone, it would likely be in the 7th or the 8th from the bottom and competing with the likes of Cuba and Venezuela. Or, likely not. Because things are not static and different situation lead to different response. I do not know how the elites of California would be doing outside the USA on their own.
