Why Would Anyone Invest In Florida?

Hurricanes are racist in nature because they always disproportionally affect minority communities.

I’m sorry, but people who live there have only themselves to blame. Hurricane and tropical storm scares come every year in that region. Sooner or later, a big one will hit directly.

Sure, we are in earthquake country so we are gambling to a certain extent too but I don’t think the damages here would be as great as that from water/storm damage at sea level. I live in a single storied ranch style home amongst other single storied ranch style homes. What is going to happen?

Rebuilding demand could dive inflation higher as well. Lots of materials needed which are in short supply.

I made money in Florida. Invested with a builder 15 years ago. We built self storage in Orlando. Hurricane hit during construction. Sold after completion. Made good money. Orlando is probably the safest place in Florida… still has flooding and wind damage

Home owners insurance is already insane there. I looked at FL and said no way.

Insurance is also getting difficult in much of the west and southwest due to fire hazard.

I’ll say it

Not enough Asians. I’m a fob, can’t help it.

Yeah, like we need another Millbrae… (LOL)

Millbrae is not for fobs. More like yuppies and established Asians. Too educated and rich for me.

Anyways I’m thinking more like 10-20%, not like 30-50.

Really? I am as ABC as it comes and I feel Millbrae is FOB City, baby!!!
