The first US case was 1/21. Wuhan wasn’t locked down until 1/23. Are you suggesting we should have locked down the US on 1/24 with a single case?

You are right. However I want to understand what perspectives these guys are taking, there is something in their minds that are not explicitly said. They always seem to interpret statements and events differently from me.
Thanks. Frankly I am clueless whether they did or didn’t. I am a guy who prefer consider innocent unless proven guilty. At least we can understand each other now.

As far as we seen, US made some some good decision and some BAD ones, for bad ones, we made correction pretty quick. Newsome did great also on this one. NY failed bad, he continue to fail to lock down.
CDC failed and did not correct their mistakes, Local hospitals/medical staff ompletely failed, my sister at kaiser south cal, her department down to last 2 box of masks told me those were purchase 1 year ago. What the fuxx did the CEO of hospital at , now asking civilians to donate mask, come on. just PAY the damn money, source it outside the country, DO YOUR OWN WORK instead of fucking blaming the gov. YOU THE CEO suppose to get this shit ready for your employee…
3 weeks ago, at work, I all in and pretty much throw my badge at my sr. mgmr and sr. director to tell them to prep for this thing, what did i get, they told me stop panicking, masks is not needed, no need to do anything, and stop spreading rumors to demoralize the team. I force their ass to buy a couple box at ebay and now they all shut the fxxk up. the mentality of ALL American in January if gov do anything crazy to encounter this virus will beat him so hard and say gov is idiot .
At least her department wore them. None of the people wore masks at the Kaiser I went to.

i don’t understand how these high educated ppl have no common sense, they all think facemasks are useless, it won’t protect you at all, but doctors and surgeon wore masks during surgery.

look at them, they asking for N95, like anything less is not up tos standard, asking them to wear 1 masks 1 day is not standard. Then you look at HK/Taiwan when there’s a shortage, ppl are flexible, they wear whatever is available. be flexible. not stubborn.

this tell you if masks are useful or not, they face millions and millions of china traveler to HK per day, no border lock from china.

I dislike politics but realize I need to know it because it affects my investment. So I keep my reading on politics to the minimum. There are a lot of background to political issue that I don’t know.

not sure that I feel like a “victim”. I’ve never had a flushot in my life, and get a “cold” once in a while.
In mid-February, I was standing one an early morning in shorts and T-shirt with wet hair in the cold. For at least 15 minutes. Had no jacket on me. I had fever by the end of the day, and stuffy nose the next day… got “really sick”, but went to bed by 7pm, after 2 nights of good sleep, I was 100% fine again.
Walking around all day with wet shoes and no socks is probably not helping either.

Nobody wants to admit these slight symptoms. But after I mentioned my really minor symptoms this week, a business partner admitted on the phone that he’s had a sore throat for 3 weeks. One friend had been coughing and felt “warm”. Temperature measured later at 98.6F, which a web search says is just perfect. He’s a smoker, late 50ies… so he was nervous. He probably just was too long in the sun.
My biggest worry is that many small businesses will die; retail, restaurants, entertainment, and yes, landlords. Big chains with deeper pockets or better access to financing will take them over, and we lose the diversity. Already a Santa Cruz bar/ restaurant of 40 years has closed permanently.
